Our purpose is to idenbfy, disseminate, and grow the unique body of knowledge that constitutes the scien- tific foundation for advanced practice psychiatric-mental health nurses who provide mental health care for adults, the elderly, their families, and communities. We are in the process of developing goals and projects for the divi- sion. The primary focus of PPC, which is offered for AGPN division members, is on issues surrounding the mental health care of the adult population. Grants Available Two grants for research in psychiatric nursing, each worth $1,ooO, are available to ISPN members. One of these, the Robert 0. Gilbert grant, is limited to child and/or ad@ lescent research and membem of the ACAPN division. The focus of the grants is qualitative or quantitative research; IRB approval must be obtained before release of funds. Investigators must have a master’s or a dodor- ate in nursing or be a student in a nursing graduate pro- gram, and apply for only one of the two grants. Proposals must include: title and purpose; background and sigruficance; hypotheses or research questions (if ap plicable); methods; appendices (budget with justification, time line, status of IRB approval, references); and must not exceed 5 single-spaced pages. Submit 6 copies of your proposal (only 1 with your name) to: ISPN, 1211 Locust St., Philadelphia, PQ 19107, postmarked by February 1, 2003. Award- will be notified by April 24,2003. Grant recipients will be expected to submit a written summary of completed research to the ISPN Research Council, an abstract to the ISPN Conference, a manuscript to one of ISPNs official journals, and acknowledge the support of ISPN and/or the Robert 0. AGPN News AGPN Division Report

We are still in the infant stages of developing the divi- sion. Our purpose is to idenbfy, disseminate, and grow the unique body of knowledge that constitutes the scien- tific foundation for advanced practice psychiatric-mental health nurses who provide mental health care for adults, the elderly, their families, and communities.
