What is BBPS?

The Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) is a RBI conceptualised system which

will offer integrated and interoperable bill payment services to customers across

geographies with certainty, reliability and safety of transactions

Who is an Agent Institution?

Entities who may be eligible to become an Agent-Institution under BBPS scheme

are:

• Non-BBPOU entities who currently offers bill payment service to customers

through physical or digital channel

• Who have not received in-principle authorization from RBI to act as an BBPOU

• Who have not applied to RBI for pursuing BBPOU license
