AGENDA/MEETING MINUTES Nursing Business Partnership Council Meeting April 22, 2013 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. ITEM 1. Introductions ITEM 2. RN/BSN Survey Discussion: Joanne Masella and Patrick Heyman presented the results of the survey. See attached handout Action: No further action at present ITEM 3. Nursing Certifications Discussion: PHF supported Mental Health certification and Critical Care certification review courses last year. This year will support them again. Gerontology certification will be included this time. Registration will be available online. See attached handouts Action: Promote individuals to take advantage of this opportunity. The review is paid for and participants will pay for their exam. ITEM 4. Healthy Work Environment Conference – June 28 th Discussion: Agenda for the upcoming conference presented and discussed. The conference was developed around the AACN standards and is a strategic agenda item of the Florida Action Coalition Action: Distribute the flyer and promote awareness of the upcoming event. ITEM 5. Annual Nursing Celebration Dinner and Distinction Awards – May 3 rd Discussion: Amy Dean– gave update: over 150 nominations were received. Action: N/A ITEM 5. New Business a) Nursing leadership needs, challenges and opportunities Discussion: June meeting will provide an opportunity for participants to bring an emerging leader. Discussion regarding including guests in the next meeting Action: Amy Dean will include an agenda item regarding benefit of CNOs & Deans/Directors meeting.
