English (C0086R), Middlesex County Board of Social Services (SCS, decided
April 23, 2014), the Civil Service Commission (Commission) granted the
request of the Middlesex County Board of Social Services for an appointment
waiver for the July 2, 2013 certification and ordered that no selection costs
were to be assessed at the time since there was a possibility that the list
could be utilized prior to its expiration. However, the appointing authority

The appeal of Anthony Larino, a Police Captain with the City of Bayonne, of
his 180 calendar day suspension, on charges, was heard by Administrative
Law Judge Joan Bedrin Murray (ALJ), who rendered her initial decision on
October 24, 2016. At its meeting on November 23, 2016, the Civil Service
Commission (Commission) did not adopt the ALJ’s recommendation to uphold
the 180 calendar day suspension. Rather, the Commission modified the
penalty to a 120 calendar day suspension. The proposed decision is now
submitted for the Commission’s review.
