    STUDENT PARTICIPATION 1. Requests for Travel

    a. Twelve Auburn Riverside High School students request permission to travel to Grand Mound, Wednesday to Friday, June 25-27. The purpose of the trip is to attend the Universal Cheerleaders Association Cheer Camp. Lodging and meals will be at Great Wolf Lodge and travel will be by personal cars. All expenses will be paid by ASB funds. Crystal Curley and Tahlia Terhune, Auburn Riverside High School coaches, request permission to accompany the students. Substitutes will not be needed. By prior administrative approval.

    b. Fifteen Auburn Riverside High School students request permission to

    travel to Corvallis, Oregon, Saturday to Tuesday, June 28-July 1. The purpose of the trip is to attend the wrestling camp. Lodging and meals will be at Oregon State University and travel will be by personal cars. All expenses will be paid by ASB funds. Kyle Jones and Eric Jones, Auburn Riverside High School coaches, request permission to accompany the students. Substitutes will not be needed. By prior administrative approval.

    c. Twelve Auburn Riverside High School students request permission to

    travel to Bellingham, Wednesday to Friday, July 9-11. The purpose of the trip is to attend the volleyball camp. Lodging and meals will be at Western Washington University and travel will be by personal car. All expenses will be paid by ASB funds. Chris Leverenz, Auburn Riverside High School coach, requests permission to accompany the students. A substitute will not be needed. By prior administrative approval.

    d. Eight Auburn Mountainview High School students request permission to

    travel to Lake Sawyer, Monday to Thursday, July 28-31. The purpose of the trip is to attend the Associated Student Body Executive Workshop. Lodging and meals will be at a rented home in Lake Sawyer and travel will be by private cars. All expenses will be paid by ASB funds. Jana Thomas, Auburn Mountainview High School activities director, and Jennie Buetow, Auburn Mountainview High School advisor, request permission to accompany the students. Substitutes will not be needed.

    e. Two Auburn High School students request permission to travel to

    Bellingham, Friday to Monday, August 1-4. The purpose of the trip is to attend the Summer Journalism Workshop. Lodging and meals will be at Western Washington University and travel will be by private cars. All expenses will be paid by ASB funds. Thomas Kaup, Auburn High School teacher, requests permission to accompany the students. Substitutes will not be needed. Stephanie Keagle, Auburn Mountainview High School teacher, requests permission to accompany the students as a chaperone.

    f. Twenty Auburn Mountainview High School students request permission

    to travel to Olga, Tuesday to Wednesday, August 26-27. The purpose of the trip is to attend the Cross Country Team Building Retreat. Lodging and meals will be at Moran State Park and travel will be by rental vans. All lodging and transportation expenses will be paid by ASB funds; students and coaches will pay for their own meals. Julianne Stricherz, Auburn Mountainview High School coach, requests permission to accompany the students. A substitute will not be needed.

    g. Fifteen Auburn Mountainview High School students request permission

    to travel to Seaside, Oregon, Friday to Saturday, September 19-20. The purpose of the trip is to attend the Cross Country Out-of-State Competition. Lodging and meals will be at Camp Rilea and travel will be by rental vans. All lodging and transportation expenses will be paid by ASB funds; students and coaches will pay for their own meals. Julianne Stricherz requests permission to accompany the students. A substitute will be needed for one day.

    Recommendation: That the above trips be approved as

    requested.

    PERSONNEL--CERTIFICATED AND CLASSIFIED 1. Certificated and Classified Personnel Report Attached is the personnel report, for certificated and classified

    personnel, for the board’s approval. Recommendation: That the board approve the attached

    report. 2. Requests for Travel

    a. Janine Glenn, Dick Scobee Elementary School teacher, requests permission to travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, Sunday to Thursday, July 6-10. The purpose of the trip would be to attend the “I Teach K” Conference. Lodging will be at the Venetian and Palazzo hotels, meals will be at local restaurants, and travel will be by airplane. All expenses will be paid by Title I funds. No substitutes will be needed. (This trip was previously approved for other attendees on April 28, 2014. Ms. Glenn will be replacing Ryan Foster.)

    b. Rhonda Larson, assistant superintendent of family engagement and

    student success; Heidi Harris, assistant superintendent of student learning; Robin Pratt, Native American education coordinator; Denise Daniels, parent and family engagement coordinator; Adam Couch, Dick Scobee Elementary School principal; and Rafael Sermeno, Mt. Baker Middle School para-educator, request permission to travel to Boston, Massachusetts, Tuesday to Friday, August 5-8. The purpose of the trip is to attend the Family Engagement Conference (Family Engagement in Equity: Creating Effective Home and School Partnerships for Student Success). Lodging will be at a hotel to be determined, meals will be at local restaurants, and travel will be by airplane. All expenses are paid by district funds. (Rhonda Larson will be replacing Louanne Decker on this trip.)

    c. Rhonda Larson requests permission to travel to Orlando, Florida,

    Friday to Monday, August 8-11. The purpose of the trip is to attend the John Maxwell Leadership Training. Lodging will be at the Orlando World Center Marriott hotel, meals will be at local restaurants, and travel will be by airplane. All expenses will be paid by district funds.

    Recommendation: That the above trips be approved as

    requested.

    3. Ratification of Agreement Debbie Leighton, executive director of human resources, will present the

    ratified agreement with the coaches and will be available to answer questions. The agreement has been reviewed by the subcommittee of the board.

    Recommendation: That the agreement with the coaches is

    ratified and the school board president be authorized to sign the negotiated Agreement.

    4. Approval of Salary Schedules Attached are the salary schedules for Classified Athletics and

    Activities for the 2014-15, 2015-16, and 2016-17 school years. Debbie Leighton will answer any questions. Recommendation: That the board approve the salary

    schedules.

    2. Authorization to Call for Bids--Auburn High School Theater Lighting

    Controls Authorization is requested to call for bids for the Auburn High School

    Theater Lighting Controls. The project consists of the acquisition, commissioning and user training of theater lighting controls, dimming and stage lighting devices for the Auburn Performing Arts Center. The estimated cost is $120,000 and will be funded from the Capital Projects fund. Bob Kenworthy will be present to recommend this authorization.

    Recommendation: That authorization be given to call for bids for the Auburn High School Theater Lighting Controls.

    3. Olympic Middle School--Right-of-Way Dedication Deed Attached is a Right-of-Way Dedication Deed to the City of Auburn for

    portions of H Street SE along the west boundary of Olympic Middle School. This deed conveys ownership from Auburn School District to City of Auburn for 20 feet of property at H Street SE from 17th Street SE to approximately 19th Street SE, and 5 feet of property from approximately 19th Street SE to 21st Street SE for right-of-way and public street purposes. Bob Kenworthy will be present to review and recommend granting of the Right-of-Way Dedication Deed.

    Recommendation: That the Right-of-Way Dedication Deed be granted to City of Auburn.
