DEPARTURE: THINGS TO NOTE

Prohibited Baggage Items

Singapore has a strict policy on travellers bringing prohibited items onboard. You are strongly advised to enquire with airline ground staff before checking-in if you are unsure about any items in your hand-carried baggage, to avoid unnecessary delays.

Guidelines for Liquids, Aerosols and Gels in Hand-Carried Luggage

• Liquids, aerosols and gels must be in containers with a maximum capacity of 100ml each.

• Containers must be placed in a 1-Iitre transparent re-sealable plastic bag.

• The re-sealable plastic bag must be completely closed.• One re-sealable plastic bag allowed per person.

The re-sealable bag must be presented separately at the security screening point.

• Exemptions will be made for medication, baby food and special dietary items.

• Liquor or other liquids, aerosols and gel products (more than 100ml) bought from overseas airports have to be sealed in tamper-evident bags.

Claiming GST Refund

For check-in items: Prior to checking-in the goods, please proceed to the eTRS self-help kiosk at the Departure Check-in Hall (Public Area) to apply for GST refund.

For hand-carry items: Please proceed to the eTRS self-help kiosk at the Departure Transit Lounge to apply for GST refund.

You may be required to present the goods at the Customs Inspection counter.

Upon obtaining approval for the claim of GST Refund: If you have opted for cash refund, please proceed to GST Cash Refund counter (at GST Refund - Departure Transit Lounge)* for collection of cash.

You are required to seek endorsement at the Customs Inspection Counter in the terminal where you will be checking in your goods or where your flight will be departing from. You must also depart with the goods on a flight within 12 hours after obtaining approval of your GST refund.

* Please refer to the terminal maps (page 4 to 9) for the counter locations.

Left Baggage

Have your luggage looked after while you shop or if you need to leave the airport. This payable service is available 24 hours daily, in both Public and Transit areas.

Below is a listing of airlines serving Changi Airport, arranged according to terminal. For most airlines, check-in counters open 2 hours prior to the flight departure time. Airlines offering Early Check-In services are indicated below.

TRANSIT AND

TRANSFER

Check your flight number on the Flight Information screens for your departure gate and time. Please arrive at your departure gate at least 30 minutes before the departure time.

Please note that transfer passengers who clear Arrival Immigration will not be able to enter the Transit area to enjoy the facilities until they have checked in with their connecting airline.

*Getting between Terminal 2 & Terminal 3

As a result of redevelopment works at Terminal 1, the North Skytrain line connecting Terminals 2 and 3 – including the public area service, and the transit area service between Terminal 3 B Gates & Terminal 2 E Gates – which run through the development site, are closed during the period of construction. The South Skytrain line connecting Terminal 3 A Gates and Terminal 2 F Gates remains operational.

Travellers may transfer between Terminals 2 and 3 as follows:

Within the transit areas (to travel between Terminal 3 B Gates and Terminal 2 E Gates)A free shuttle bus service connecting Terminal 2 E Gates and Terminal 3 B Gates runs from 5.00am to 2.30am, with an average waiting time of between four to seven minutes. The journey takes about six to eight minutes.

Boarding & alighting points:· Terminal 2: North Bus Station, Level 1, just before Arrival

Immigration (take escalator down and turn left). Look out for signs indicating “Shuttle Bus to T3 (B Gates)”

· Terminal 3: North Bus Station, Level 1, just before Arrival Immigration (take escalator down and turn right). Look out for signs indicating “Shuttle Bus to T2 (E Gates)”

Alternatively, passengers can take the South Skytrain line connecting T3 A Gates and T2 F Gates, which continues to operate as usual

At the public areasBy foot using the Mezzanine Level link bridge above the MRT station. It takes approximately five minutes to walk between Terminal 2 and 3.

Skytrain Maintenance Hours

The Skytrain is closed for maintenance works from 2.30am to 5.00am daily. During these non-operational hours, travellers may transfer between the terminals as follows:

Within the transit areasBy foot via the inter-terminal travellators located throughout the Departure Transit areas.

At the public areasA free shuttle bus service connecting all terminals operates from 2.30am to 5.00am daily at 15 minutes intervals.

TRANSFERRING BETWEEN TERMINALSChangi Airport’s terminals are connected by a free Skytrain service, which operates from 5.00am to 2.30am, at both the transit and public areas.

It takes approximately four minutes to travel between terminals by Skytrain, with an average waiting time of two minutes.

Please note that the North Skytrain line connecting Terminals 2 and 3 are currently not operational due to ongoing development works (*please see details below).
