    sufficient planting width.

Wetland plants will be intentionally located around storm water ponds and in wet ditches.

The segment between 65th and 85th Streets NW will be planted with an eye toward the urbanization ofthis area within the next 5 to 10 years. In particular, tree plantings will be planned and planted early so

that trees will have matured by the time development occurs.

Where there is excess right-of-way that will be maintained with public access, landscaping will be

added to the benefit of the neighborhoods.

Landscape types that are maintenance intensive will be provided water service. Bridges must be designed to provide access for an irrigation system so that water can get to the bridge

    planters.

Traffic Barriers The traffic barrier will have a continuous recessed panel. 9-1

Perimeter Fencing Vinyl-clad chain-link fence will be used north of 55th St. NW and south of 16th St. SW; the Omega

woven wire fence will be used in between those locations.

An ornamental fence post will be used at the beginning and end of the Omega fence segments.

Where retaining walls tie into fence segments, the walls will be stepped down in height to match thefence height.

Plantings to mask the fence will be considered for certain locations.

    10-1, 10-2, 10-3,

    and 10-4

    Storm WaterPonds

Storm water ponds will have irregular, natural shapes. Pond function will be consistent with the Citys Storm Water Management Plan objectives.

    11-2

Transit Facilities Park and Ride facilities should be incorporated into this project. Excess right of way may be used for bus stops at appropriate locations that are yet to be determined.

    none

    Pedestrian & BikeFacilities

A TH 14 West crossing must be provided. None

These recommendations have been made in the absence of cost information that may ultimately affect which elements are prioritized forfinal incorporation into the project. The ADRC will continue to collaborate with MN DOT to determine acceptable alternatives to therecommendations noted above. The ADRC will continue to meet on a quarterly basis so as to be available to consult with MN DOT as preliminary

designs, specifications and plans are developed.
