The diversion load module can be easily detached andrapidly reinstalled remotely to the primary control with anoptional stacking kit and cooling fan or simple cover.Note: Optional stacking kit sold separately
The LAKOTA COMMANDER's primary module houses thefull back plane heat sink with high power sectionincluding bridge rectifier, diversion load regulator, batteryisolation, and super capacitor. The primary module hasvolt and ammeter displays located above the DLR triggerset point. It is also displays DLR trigger voltage digitally.This module comes with the standard stacking kit andcooling fan. Note: Only one meter is shown.
The LAKOTA COMMANDER only clips off excess energyseveral thousands of times per second and diverts it to theresistors, “BEFORE” it gets to the batteries. Thismaximizes the time full battery float voltage.
Solar controllers like the C-40/C-60 Series are known as“Dump Controllers” since they will dump energy to lowerthe battery voltage and then allow the batteries to chargeback to an upper limit before dumping again. Note that theLAKOTA COMMANDER is “NOT” a "Dump Controller" likethese solar charge controllers, often used in other windsystems.
LAKOTA COMMANDER has a "Diversion Load Regulator"(DLR) with Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) and asubstantial capacitor bank that can operate your LAKOTAturbine safely even if your batteries or inverter fail orbecome disconnected from your turbine.

OB1 commander is a Flight-Speed-Diversion-Braking Computer Control Center. A;though, initiallydeveloped for the OB1KW Advanced TechnologyDown Wind Turbine Program in 2001. It was soonrealized that the capabilities could far exceed solely theOB1KW.
Now with over 4 years of field testing the OB1commander is ready for production and can supportany turbine up to 5 kW, clusters of smaller turbines, or aproperly sized compliment of wind and solar PV. Up to 3Lakota turbines can be controlled with one single OB1commander.
Advanced micro-processor Pulse Width Modulation(PWM) and Electro Dynamic Braking (EDB) enablespeed and flight control operations of small turbines tomaintain a flight envelope or sweet spot that greatlyimproves annual energy capacity. Noise emission is alsogreatly reduced as the result of optimized speed andflight control through microprocessor based control.
The first distributor installation of the OB1commander is scheduled for April 2005 at the FREEWind Test Center in Lions Head Ontario Canada.Detailed technical and feature content at this time isrestricted to Aeromax authorized distributors anddealers, however you can find performance updates fromThe True North FREE Wind Test Center in the recentfuture.

Lakota Power OutputThe Lakota battery-charging wind turbine produces 1KWof electrical output power in 29 mile per hour winds. Inhigh winds, power output in strong winds are beingreported between 1300 and 1800 watts, and end usersare regularly reporting amperage outputs of 70 to 100amps. The power output depends on the generatorvoltage (12V, 24V, or 48V) and on the selected operatingmode for the generator.
The Lakota Wind Turbine begins furling into the wind(the blades and generator head tilt upward) in windspeeds above 32 miles per hour while maintaining acontinuous full-power output. In actual site conditions,users report full-power output in wind speeds beyond60 miles per hour.
