Why is Video Important in Real Estate?

In 2013 more and more businesses are using social media to move online. The real estate industry is no different, with 84% of professionals using social media to connect with buyers and sellers. With the home buying market becoming saturated by Generation Y, using social media is a must.

According to an infographic from Postling.com, 84% of real estate professionals are using social media to meet potential buyers and market their listings, but only 12% have a YouTube account.

Using video for real estate should come as a no brainer to most industry professionals, but this stat proves that most are still missing a very important market. Video allows potential buyers the opportunity to get a real feel for a home without having to waste time doing a drive by of every house on their list, making properties easier and quicker to sell.

We all know that when people buy homes they are not investing in the physical structure alone, they are investing in the neighborhood, the community and the landscape. Having the ability to show all of this in videos and images can be done with both aerial and ground photography and video.

Take for instance, a community that is near a greenway or within walking distance to a park or even a Starbucks. What are the odds you could add value to a property if you were able to show a potential buyer that before they even set foot on the property?

Using an aerial photography company allows professionals to showcase not only the property, but the scenery, neighborhood and surrounding area. Combined with an inside virtual tour, aerial photography and video gives potential buyers the complete 360 view.
