PROMOTING YOUR BUSINESSYou run a business, co-ordinate a festival or event or anything where you need customers or an audience, so how do you attract them? The first response of course is that you need to advertise, but how do you do that effectively. Print media has been the traditional way to promote your product and for generations it worked supremely well, but now, with the growth of the internet and social media, people have choices. And at Secrets Magazine we are offering choices. Advertisers now have the option to promote their product in the quarterly, well loved print magazine, on the Secrets Website where we offer a number of options or both print and digital packages (details below).

WHY CHOOSE SECRETS Secrets Magazine has been showcasing the people, places, stories and businesses of Central Victoria since 2005. Rated for its quality, easy to read articles and images the quarterly publication has a strong and loyal following. Secrets provides a platform for regional businesses to promote their product and service to a wide audience that is inquisitive, tech savvy and utilises electronic media, but who still enjoy a good read over a cuppa and a bite to eat. Secrets demographics are your market. With the exponential growth of the internet and social media, Secrets has recognised that our advertisers will reach a far broader audience either through the print magazine or by using one of the platforms offered through the Secrets website and social media.

DIGITAL EXPOSURE INCLUDING SOCIAL MEDIAYour advertisement and/or editorial will be seen by an average of 8000+ unique visitors per month who will have the option of using links to go directly to your website. We will promote your business through our social media platforms at least twice per month, depending on the advertising investment. Digital

advertising is cost effective and is flexible where you can choose from display ads on the Secrets website, online editorials, or simple line listings in our new “Where do I find it …? Section. You can choose how long you run your online advertising from one month to three months.

PRINT MEDIASecrets has been a sought after publication for the past fourteen years each quarter. We have researched the possibility of making Secrets an online only magazine and it has been made abundantly clear that both readers and advertisers like to have the hard copy that they enjoy reading leisurely over a coffee and sharing with friends. Eight thousand copies of the hard copy are printed each quarter and distributed throughout the Central Victorian region from Bendigo to Bacchus Marsh, Ballarat and all points in between. The magazine has been unofficially audited with an estimated readership in excess of 40,000 per issue. However, it is also abundantly clear that print media needs to be offered in harmony with digital.

Working with you, we can write your story to profile you, your business or event to the greatest advantage.

Online editorials are available and will appear initially on the home page and will move down the page as new content is added. To maintain editorial on home page a 20% loading applies.

These terms apply to all advertising, both online and print provided to any person (Client) by Secrets Magazine. Client includes an advertiser on whose behalf advertising is placed and any media company or agency that arranges the advertising for its clients.

APPROVAL OF ADVERTISINGSubject to these terms, in providing advertising to a client, Secrets Magazine will use its reasonable endeavours to publish the advertising in the format and in the position agreed with the client. A) A proof of all advertisements designed by Secrets will be forwarded to the Client for approval. Approval or alterations will be required to be returned, within three days of the proof having been sent. Failure to respond will be deemed to be approval of the insert. This applies to both digital and print advertising. B) If instructions are to repeat a previous listing; it is the Client’s responsibility to notify the publisher of any changes to the ad. Failure to do so will result in the insert being published as previously. C) Mistakes approved or deemed approved by the Client shall not qualify for compensation.

RIGHT TO REFUSE ADVERTISINGSecrets Magazine reserves the right to refuse or withdraw from publication any advertising at any time that, in the opinion of Secrets Magazine is illegal, defamatory, offensive, obscene and/or contrary to the business interest, goodwill and/or reputation of Secrets Magazine or any of its clients, vendors or audience or is likely to infringe on the rights of third parties (even if the advertising has been published previously by Secrets Magazine).

RIGHT TO VARY FORMAT, PLACEMENT OR DISTRIBUTIONSecrets Magazine will use reasonable efforts to publish advertising in the format and in the position requested by the client, however Secrets Magazine reserves the right to vary the placement of advertising within the publication or website within reason.

SUBMISSION OF ADVERTISINGThe Client warrants that the publication of the advertising does not breach or infringe: The Competition and Consumer Act or equivalent Sate legislation. Any copyright, trade mark, obligation of confidentiality or other personal or proprietary right, any law of defamation, obscenity or contempt of any court or tribunal. State or Commonwealth privacy legislation or anti-discrimination. The Client warrants that if advertising contains the name or photographic or pictorial representation of any living person by which any living person can be identified, the client has obtained the authority of that person to make use of his/her name or representation of the copy.

PAYMENT TERMSDigital advertising and editorial to be paid on invoice before the advertisement or editorial is posted online. Print advertising to be paid on invoice strictly 14 days from receipt of invoice. Cancellations: Print advertisements cancelled two weeks prior to the deadline will not be charged, however any artwork undertaken will be charged. Ads cancelled less than two weeks from the deadline will be charged for and any monies paid will be forfeited. Digital advertising cancelled 3 days before material is to go live online will not be charged, however any artwork including editorial copy already undertaken will be charged. Discounts are offered for multiple bookings in the print magazine or if a print and digital package has been booked. If a discount has been offered for multiple bookings and the advertisement is withdrawn prior to completion of the contract, the amount deducted from each issue will be invoiced and due and payable within 3 days of that invoice. Failure to pay may incur further action being taken.

RIGHTS AND LIABILITIESA) If for any reason deemed to be acceptable by Secrets Magazine a listing does not go to print a repeat listing in the next available edition will be due to the Client.

Only where the advertiser has booked and paid for a casual advertisement and it has been omitted from the magazine through to no fault of the advertisers, will a full refund be available. B) Advertisers will not be promoted through Secrets’ Social Media platforms ntil the account is paid in full. C) In the event of there being a serious error in an advertisement designed by Secrets Magazine, it may as its option reprint the advertisement without error in the next available issue of the magazine and the Client shall be obliged to accept such a reprint as compensation and then pay for the invoice amount originally charged. Any Digital errors will be corrected and reposted as soon as possible from the rror being identified. Secrets Magazine does not accept responsibility for errors in advertisement designed by other parties.

ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMSBy agreeing to advertise in Secrets Magazine, whether that agreement be given in writing, through email or verbally, the advertiser accepts these Terms and Conditions.
