Its used to persuade children to ask their parents to purchase the cereal.It’s a Stand alone advert with a humorous style .Its surreal.

What persuasive techniques are being used ?

• Using the free sticker and swap card to persuade the viewer to buy the cereal. Its appealing to children.

• The honey monster character is also used to create interest in purchasing the product as its unusual and will make children want the cereal.

• It has a unique selling point as its advertising a free gift.• Its humorous.• This advert contains no hidden or overt messages but often adverts do to persuade more

potential customers.

AIDA• Attract attention- the advert successfully attracts the potential customers

which are children and their parents.• Arouse interest- The advert creates interest due to the free items included

with the cereal and the character used to advertise it. • Stimulate desire- By focusing on the free sticker and swap card it

convinces children that they need the cereal so they trade the free items. • Promote action- Due to the niche character used to advertise the cereal

viewers of the advert will be able to relate to the product when they see it shops. Also children may persuade their parents to take action and buy the product because all their friends are trading the swap cards.

Codes and conventions• Mise-en-scene- the honey monster begins sitting at a table pouring out sugar puffs

cereal. Surrounded by unrealistic painted background despite the fact that its clearly been shot in a studio.

footage of showing its capability's.
