PARKS & REC INSIGHTSFlower Mound Parks & Trails

Since 1985, America has celebrated July as the nation’s official Park and Recreation Month. In 2009, the U.S. House of Representatives officially mandated July as “Park and Recreation Month.” So spend some time this summer utilizing the great parks and trails Flower Mound has to offer! The Parks and Recreation Division maintains close to 1,000 acres of parkland. This includes approximately 60 miles of multi-purpose trails that link together parks, neighborhoods, schools, and businesses, and twelve miles of equestrian trails.

There are also 12 miles of equestrian trails and 14 miles of unpaved hike and bike trails for public use located along the northern shores of Grapevine Lake. Many of our neighborhood parks offer a variety of playgrounds, covered picnic shelters, cooking grills, park benches, and basketball play pads. Residents also enjoy numerous youth and adult baseball, softball, football, and soccer fields, and public tennis courts.

For more information about the Town’s Park and Trail system, please visit www.flower-mound.com/parks.
