It's hard to believe that the summer is almost over and soon the cooler temperatures of fall will be upon us. This gives us renewed energy for a number of exciting events we have planned. Firstly, we are currently making final preparations for AUSTRIA CONNECT, the 8th Annual Conference for Executives of Austrian Subsidiaries in the US and Canada, which will be held September 18 at the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago. Registration closes September 1, so act quickly! On the heels of the conference, a delegation headed by Andrä Rupprechter, the Austrian Federal Minister for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management, will visit Chicago as well as the Case IH tractor plant in Racine.

Austria will be hosting a pavilion at the GREENBUILD International Conference and Expo 2015 in November in Washington, DC, where the latest technologies and innovations in the field of sustainable and greenbuilding construction will be showcased. GDP up by 0.3% in the euro area and by 0.4% in the EU28 *)

Seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 0.3% in the euro area1 (EA19) and by 0.4% in the EU281 during the second quarter of 2015, compared with the previous quarter, according to flash estimates2 published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. In the first quarter of 2015, GDP grew by 0.4% in both areas. Compared with the same quarter of the previous year, seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 1.2% in the euro area and by 1.6% in the EU28 in the second quarter of 2015, after +1.0% and +1.5% respectively in the previous quarter. During the second quarter of 2015, GDP in the United States increased by 0.6% compared with the previous quarter (after +0.2% in the first quarter of 2015).
