Pharmacy is the art and science of dispensing medicines that involves preparation and formulation of drugs, and also educating about medicine.Pharmacy is the health profession that links the health sciences with the chemical sciences, and it is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical drugs.

According to the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society, the ratio of pharmacist to patient in the year 2010 is 1:4700. This shows that the country is still faced with a shortage in pharmacy support staff in hospital, clinics, and public health services.

Diploma Pharmacy in Geomatika University College aims to produce high quality pharmacy assistant and enhance the progress of pharmaceutical field in Malaysia.

1. Pass SPM with Five (5) credits in the following subjects: • Bahasa Melayu • Two (2) subjects from Science/ Mathematics group (Biology/ Chemistry, General Science/ Allied Science, Modern Mathematics/ Additional Mathematics) • Two (2) from any subjects AND • Pass English (Priority for whom get credits in English subject); OR2. Pass SPM with three (3) credits in following subjects: • Bahasa Melayu • One (1) subject from Science/ Mathemathics group (Biology/ Chemistry, General Science/ Allied Science, Modern Mathematics/ Additional Mathematics) • One (1) from any subjects • Obtain Certificate in relevan field recognized by Government of Malaysia (Community Nurse/ Dental Surgery Assistant/ Assistant Public Health/ Certificates of Health Science) AND • Pass English (Priority for whom get credits in English subject)- Students shall be certified medically fit by a registered medical practitioner and free from Mental illness

1. Pass SPM / SPMV with at least credits in three (3) subjects including Mathematics OR Science AND Pass Bahasa Melayu; OR2. Pass O-Level with at least Grade C in three (3) subjects including Mathematics OR Science; OR 3. Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least Grade B in three (3) subjects including Mathematics OR Science; OR4. Pass STPMor equivalent with at least Grade C (CGA 2.00) in one (1) subject; OR5. Pass STAM rank ‘Maqbul’; OR 6. Obtain Certificate (MQF level 3) in relevan field by PPT recognized by Government of Malaysia with at least 2.00 minimum CGPA; OR7. Obtain Certificate in Vocational / Technical / Community College / SKM (level 3) in relevean field AND Pass SPM with at least one (1) credit; OR8. Any equivalent qualification recognized by Malaysian Government.

Diploma in Medical Assistant is specifically designed to develop student with a strong foundation and skills that seek changing world of Medical.

This programme aimed to provide students with the knowledge, skills and attitude to enable them to practice as a Medical Assistant or Assistant Medical Officer, as they are currently known. Upon graduating the programme, the graduates would be able to understand, diagnose, treat simple ailment, caring and curing in wellness and disease.
