Overview:

- The ™ 1U 5kW series of precision DC programmable power supplies represents a new generation platform that brings advanced performance and higher power density to the high reliability TDK-Lambda DC Programmable Power Supply product portfolio.

- This new DC programmable power supply platform offers significant advancements such as a high contrast, wide viewing angle multi-segment front panel LCD display (with user controllable brightness and dimming functions) with five embedded

multi-functional Power Supply Setup menus that address Digital Communication, Protective Functions, Operating Configuration, System Configuration and System Triggering. These Setup menus offer many new adjustable user-selectable functions including Internal Resistance simulation, Constant-Power limit and Slew-Rate control (Output voltage/current). Arbitrary waveform profiles (such as vehicle battery start-up simulation) of up to 100 steps can also be generated and stored in four on-board memory cells and can be recalled and activated via the embedded menus or through any standard Remote Digital communication interface (LAN ( , 1.5), USB or RS-232/RS-485).

- All model functions can be programmed locally via the menu-driven front panel display or remotely using one of the three standard Remote Digital communication interfaces (LAN ( 1.5), USB and RS-232/RS-485) or through the optional IEEE (SCPI-compliant) interface.

- A built-in standard Remote Isolated Analog Program/Monitor & Control Interface (with 600V isolation) is also provided with new functions such as Output control pins (for activation of external devices for polarity reversal/load disconnect), Trigger-

In/Trigger-Out pins (for synchronization), ENABLE control (with user-selectable polarity) and high accuracy Program/

Monitor signals.

- A new Advanced Parallel Master/Slave system, unique to TDK-Lambda, allows for improved multi-unit system performance (Output ripple/noise and dynamic response) where up to four units* can be connected in parallel and automatically configured by detection of the parallel data-link cable connections between units.

- New mechanical options include a Blank Front Panel and a Dust Cover. The Blank Front Panel option is available for applications where the front panel display and controls are not required and only remote interfacing (Digital/Analog) is needed. The Dust Cover is used in dusty air environment applications, snaps in place and has a removable filter (for easy maintenance).

- Models are available from 10V (500A) to 600V (8.5A) with conversion efficiencies up to 92% and options for three-phase AC Input include 208VAC (170~265VAC) or a wide-range 480VAC (342~528VAC), all with built-in active Power-Factor-Correction (0.94 typical).

8. PREView button / Indicator• Pressing activates the PREView function (GREEN LED lit). Once lit, pressing the PREView button exits back to the main

display (actual Vout/Iout or Output OFF). If no button is pressed, the display returns back to the actual Output voltage/Output current after 5 seconds.

• If voltage or current values are changed then the PREView mode displays Output voltage/Output current settings for 15 seconds. After 15 seconds the front panel display returns back to the actual Output voltage/current.

9. OUT button (Output ON/OFF control) with embedded GREEN/RED LED• lluminated GREEN when Output is ON; unlit when Output is OFF; blinking RED (1/2Hz rate) during FAULT condition

1. VOLTAGE display: 4-digit, 16-sement display which normally displays Output voltage, 5th digit is "V" symbol. In PREView mode, the VOLTAGE display shows the programmed setting of the Output voltage. In MENU navigation, the VOLTAGE display indicates the selected MENU function.

2. Operating Mode indicator: CV (Constant-Voltage), CC (Constant-Current) or CP (Constant-Power).3. CURRENT display: 4-digit, 16-sement display which normally displays Output current, 5th digit is "A" symbol. In PREView mode,

Parallel Operation - Master/Slave:

Auto-paralleling Scalable Master-Slave Operation.Active current sharing allows up to four identical units to be connected.Total actual Output current is programmed, measured and reported by the Master unit.Separate "Parallel Kit" available for 20kW (4 unit) systems allowing easy system setup.
