PINNACLE

As a part of our mission and ministry here at Pinnacle we want to continue to grow in our faith together. We hope that you can find something here to challenge you, minister to you and guide you in your Christian walk. Our faith grows and is shaped in a variety of ways and many different settings, whether it is at one of our weekly Bible Studies, at an Amigos dinner or at one of our support groups. We hope you find your place here.

Inside you will find our ongoing programs and groups that are just waiting for you to join them. Also see the insert for our seasonal studies and programs that you might enjoy. We gather to grow with God at our adult education programs, fellowship together in our social groups and care for each other at our support groups. We will see you there!

example, Native American foods make up about 60% of the world's food supply; we use Native American words every day, we play their games, we mimic their totems, and more, indicating we are much closer than we acknowledge.

Jan. 25 | The Columbian Exchange: The story of how Europeans, and eventually Americans, brought new ideas, new animals, new crops, new plants, new religion, and new threats, forever changing both the Native American's world and American culture for good or ill.

Feb. 15 | Native American Today: A quick statistical look at where Native American's are today and what they continue to contribute as citizens of the U.S. With a particular look at our Arizona neighbors, who make up only 5% of the state's population, but make a much larger imprint on our lives.

FAITH FORMATION: PRAYER MATTERS

Pastor Kelsy Brown Wednesdays, January 28, February 4, 11 | 6:00 - 7:00 pm | FH Room 2Prayer happens all the time. From the quick prayer on car drive to work to the prayers of celebration to the prayers of desperation in the midst of the crisis, we all pray. When we get down to the heart of our prayers, there are three prayers that help us get through the best days to the hardest days of our lives. Join us as we unpack three types of prayer, how we use them and what it means to pray.

LENTEN VESPERSWednesdays, February 18, 25, March 4, 11, 18, 25 and April 1 | 6:15 - 6:45 P.M. | Chapel

LENTEN SMALL GROUPSVarious dates and locations throughout Lent

Forgiveness is the one practice that challenges us to act, calls us to change and defines us in our Christian faith. We find our forgiveness at the cross with Jesus. We spend the season of lent helping ourselves understand what this means for our life, our relationships and our faith. Join us in one of our weekly small groups to think about forgiveness in a new way through Forgiveness: A Lenten Study by Marjorie J. Thompson. Look for more details in the coming weeks!

PASTOR’S LENTEN SERIES: MARRIAGE MATTERS Sundays, February 22, March 1 and 22 | 11:15 am Musical Rehearsal Hall

Debate rages today about marriage and sexuality. Western views were born as the church shaped out culture around the institution of marriage, but accepted views are in flux. For the church, though, any discussion of human sexuality still begins with a discussion of Christian marriage. For that reason, even as debates rage there’s good reason to pause and consider. Building on Pinnacle’s January workshop, “Marriage Matters,” Dr. Avram will offer three Lenten discussions about how Christians are debating sexuality and marriage: 1.) What about the Bible?; 2.) What about theology and culture?; 3.) What about the church?

DAILY LENTEN DEVOTIONAL BOOKLETBooklets will be located in the Sanctuary & Chapel Narthexes, as well as the Church office, beginning Sunday, February 15.

Written by Pinnacle members, friends, Pastors and staff. This year’s daily devotions reflect from the Psalms.
