If your image does not appear straight and/or there are areas around the scanned image you need to crop, you can benefit from the Crop tool:

2) Click the crop tool located in the Tools Panel on the left of your screen. Notice that as you select the Crop tool, you will start having access to a range of options and sub tools that show up on the context-sensitive Control Panel bar located below the Menu Bar.

3) Click on "Straighten" from the Control Panel (Top Right). Then click and drag over any line in your scanned image that needs to appear straightened. Your image will be straightened and Photoshop will generate a suggested crop frame (Bottom Left).

4) Make necessary changes to the suggested crop frame by dragging the our crop control bars at the corners and four other at the midpoint of each crop frame edge. once satisfied, press Enter (Return on Mac) to verify changes (Bottom Right).
