FORMULATION OF BARANGAY GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT

(GAD) PLAN & BUDGET FY – 2020

OCTOBER 14-16, 2019

Coaching helps foster employee skills and mentoring groom’s employees for higher level

responsibilities. Last October 14-16, 2019, Dr. Julie E. Albano and Engr. Mailyne V. Bacongco

attended the Three-Days Coaching and Mentoring on the Formulation of Barangay Gender and

Development (GAD) Plan & Budget FY-2020. Dr. Albano was one of the coach and mentor in the

formulation of Barangay GAD Plan and Budget.

TECH4ED LAUNCHING PROGRAM AND ORIENTATION

The Tech4ED

project provides

access points for

individuals and

communities

access to

information,

communication,

technology,

government

services, non-

formal education,

skills training,

telehealth, job

markets, and

business portals.

Last October 11, 2019, the Provincial DICT Team with SKSU ICT group conducted the Tech4ED

Launching Program and Orientation in the SKSU-Kalamansig Campus Library. The said program

was attended by faculty and students. The municipal mayor Hon. Rolando P. Garcia also attended the

program and gave his message of support on the program.

RADYO KADULANGAN LAUNCHING PROGRAM

October 2, 2019

Last October 2, 2019, the first

Community Radio Station

“Radyo Kadulangan 92.1 FM”

of Bayang Pinagpala

Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat

conducted its Launching

Program. The said activity

started with a Fun Run,

participated by SKSU students

and faculty.

The Launching program was facilitated by the Community Radio Council (CRC). Two of the faculty

of SKSU-Kalamansig Campus is a member of CRC in the name of Dr. Julie E. Albano and Engr.

Mailyne V. Bacongco.

WORLD TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION

OCTOBER 7, 2019

World Teacher Day or

International Teacher’s Day

was celebrated every year.

The aim of celebrating

World Teacher’s Day is to

focus on “assessing,

appreciating and improving

educators around the

world”. The theme for this

year was “Young Teachers:

The Future of Professions”.

Last October 7, 2019,

SKSU-Kalamansig Campus

celebrated the said activity

facilitated by Student Body

Organization (SBO). The

students gave flowers to

their respective teachers as

token of appreciation. It

was a memorable activity

were everyone enjoyed and

feel relax as students gave

free service like, foot spa,

hot oil, manicure and

pedicure to all teachers as a

way of gratitude.

Last October 15, 2019, Prof. Cecilia Besana one of the retirees of SKSU-Kalamansig

Campus attended the conference on RA 9994: An act granting additional benefits and

privileges to Senior Citizen held at Villa Amor Hotel, Gensan Drive, Koronadal City.

Dechavez attended the AACUP

accreditation of MSU – IIT as Accreditor.

The said institution was subject for Level

I and III accreditation survey visit. Dr.

Dechavez was the Accreditor Team

Leader for Master in Business

Management Program. Accreditation of

curricular programs in the Philippines,

particularly for state universities and

colleges, is the main function of the

Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges

and Universities in the Philippines

(AACUP), Inc.

started with a torch

parade.

Cheer dance competition was one of the

highlights of Intramurals 2019. It was

performed during the second day of the

Intramurals. Cheer dance was usually

dominated by gymnastic skills such as jumps,

tumbling skills, lifts and tosses combined with

shouting of cheers and yells to lead the crowd to

cheer for a certain team. The winner of the said

competition was the Amity Team.

lasting friendships. Team

sport such as basketball

and volleyball one of the

event during Intramurals

promotes social change

by utilizing sport as a

Pasundayag 2019 was a fund raising Variety show in support to the development of the Binagian

Cultural Group held during the Intramurals last October 14, 2019. The activity was a night activity

and it was performed by socio cultural dance troupe.

Athletes who learn how to perform better

also learn how to be better teammates. The

Track and field who were participated by

men and women was one of the events of

Intramurals which show camaraderie and

sportsmanship. Win or lose what matter was

everyone enjoyed and learned value of being

optimistic.

OCTOBER 2019

Intercampus Meet was one of

the most exciting event in the

university which done every

year and participated by

selected athletes in the campus.

Out of 570 students only 93

were selected to attend the

Intercampus Meet 2019. The

event was held in SKSU-Isulan

Campus, Isulan Sultan Kudarat

last October 27-31, 2019.

Unfortunately, the said event

was terminated due to the

safety of students cause by

earthquakes and aftershock. In

spites of the termination the

students did enjoyed their

journey specially those first

timer to attend the Intercampus

Meet.

COMMUNITY RADIO BROADCASTING WORKSHOP

OCTOBER 5-6, 2019

To enhance the writing and broadcasting skills of faculty and students a Community Radio

Broadcasting Workshop was conducted last October 5-6, 2019 in preparation for the live

broadcasting in Radyo Kadulangan 92.1 FM Station. The SKSU-Kalamansig Campus was given

time slot every day to air updates or activities/programs conducted by the campus.

PAFTE CONVENTION

OCTOBER 17-19, 2019

Mr. Reynaldo Aranego Jr., English Faculty of SKSU-Kalamansig campus attended the 48th National

and 9th International PAFTE Convention last October 17-19, 2019. The theme of the said convention

was “The Rise of Artificial Intelligence: Implications to Professional Teachers and Teacher

Educators”.

OCTOBER 16-19, 2019

Last October 16-19, 2019, Mr. Lee Astrologo Registered Guidance Counselor attended the

55th National Midyear Conference of Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association in

Grand Caprice Hotel and Xavier University, Cagayan de Oro City. The theme of the said

conference was “Professional Practice in the Age of Disruption for Glocal Well Being”.

WRITESHOP ON WRITING SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES FOR

PUBLICATION OCTOBER 29-31, 2019

Three of the faculty researcher of SKSU-Kalamansig campus has attended the concluded Writeshop

on Writing Scientific Articles for Publication last October 29-31, 2019. The researcher were Prof.

Yolanda C. Dapitan, Ms. Karen L. Catane, and Ms Zinnia Rose Sumugat. Those researchers were

already have a completed research.
