VACANCY – TEST AND EVALUATION TECHNICIAN(INTERNAL/EXTERNAL)

PURPOSE OF JOB

Provide an innovative, cost effective and customer orientated product test and evaluation service to DLS, other Denel divisions and the private sector.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Technical management of internal and external projects and functions. Administrative management of internal and external projects and functions. Plan, co-ordinate and initiate laboratory and field tests. Prepare hardware in terms of installation of transducers, strain gauges (various bonding and

welding techniques) and signal cabling for tests. Perform field tests in terms of calibration of transducers, different strain gauge configurations,

instrumentation and data capturing. On-site fault finding of transducer, strain gauge installations and signal cabling. Assembly, maintenance and dismantle of components and systems. Proofing of components and systems. Functional acceptance tests of components and systems. Support during demonstrations. Participate in SHE program. Apply all applicable DLS Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions to the best of your ability

including Denel Employee Ethics Policy number 41.

CRITICAL SKILLS

Mechanical or Electro-mechanical qualification with experience. Ability to do precise and accurate transducer and strain gauge installations. Knowledge and experience in the correct application and limitations of different measurement

techniques. Knowledge and experience of the correct calibration techniques. Knowledge and experience of weapon systems and components for safe proofing and functional

acceptance tests.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

BSc / BEng Mech / Elec. Other qualifications and relevant experience will be considered. At least 5 years relevant experience.
