MEDICAL & DENTAL SUPPORT

FIFE HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE PARTNERSHIPCAMERON HOSPITALPUBLIC DENTAL SERVICEDENTAL THERAPY AND NATIONAL PROGRAMME MANAGERREF NO: FW948/04/19ACSALARY: £37,570 - £44,688BAND 7 – HOURS: 37.5

This is an exciting time to join NHS Fife’s Public Dental Service (PDS). Dental services across Scotland are being re-shaped by the recently launched National Oral Health Improvement Plan and the PDS will continue to play a critical role in preventing oral health disease, meeting the needs of the ageing population and reducing oral health inequalities.

In Fife, there are a number of key priorities, including delivery of the Dental Therapy Outreach and National Dental Inspection Programmes and realisation of the Scottish Government strategy to achieve full integration of Dental Therapy to the wider clinical team. To support those key local and national strategies, we are looking to appoint a Dental Therapy and National Programme Manager.

This is a wide ranging role incorporating staff management, service planning, service development and the ability to effect real change in dental services, and ideally suited to a fully qualified and GDC registered Dental Therapist looking to take the next step in their career.

Providing effective clinical/line management and leadership to the Dental Hygienist/Therapy team, you will ensure that our Dental Therapists are fully equipped to maximise their contribution to the clinical teams and you will work closely with the Clinical Director and senior colleagues to overcome any barriers to full integration.

You will also take a lead role in the management and co-ordination of the Dental Therapy Outreach and National Dental Inspection Programmes, ensuring all planning, governance, clinical and operational issues are considered, prioritised and implemented.

We won’t forget your love of clinical work though and you will have regular sessions providing a range of clinical, restorative and preventative procedures in line with your scope of practice and agreed treatment plans. This will include domiciliary care and delivery of oral health promotion with key priority groups.

With an NHS background, you will ideally have experience working with patients with additional needs and supervising, coaching or mentoring others.

SPECIALTY DOCTOR / GENERAL PRACTITIONER / MEDICAL PRACTITIONERGLENROTHES & CAMERON COMMUNITY HOSPITALSHOURS: FULL OR PART TIME AVAILABLEREF NO: ED457/02/19

We are looking for a Specialty Doctor, General Practitioner or Medical Practitioner to work within 2 of our community hospitals.

Community Hospital based care includes Rehabilitation for frail people,Neurological rehabilitation divided into under 65 years and over 65 years stroke rehabilitation, Palliative Care and Hospital Based Complex Clinical Care (HBCCC)

The care that we provide in community hospitals for adults is evolving. The overriding model of rehabilitation for adults is now provided in community settings through various models such as the Integrated Community Assessment and Support Service (ICASS) and Short Term Assessment and Reablement (STAR).

The rehabilitation wards are for people who require sub acute care following a period of illness or injury. At present many complex frail adults are admitted to the acute hospital when they could have their care needs met within the community hospital setting. The evolving models of care provide an opportunity to develop an alternative to acute admission. Direct admission to rehabilitation wards from areas such as Hospital at Home and Community Health and Wellbeing huddles would ensure that people are cared for in a more appropriate setting, enhancing the opportunities for step up care.

The neurological provision for over 65 years at present is solely for people who have suffered a stroke. People who are over 65 and have other neurological conditions such as traumatic brain injury receive general rehabilitation. We also know that people are waiting in the acute hospital to access stroke rehabilitation.

You will have full GMC registration with a licence to practice. If a GP you will also be on the GMC Register as a qualified GP.

NURSE DIRECTOR

Executive & Senior Manager Grade F

£89,440 - £121,318 per annum

Could you be our new Nurse Director?

NHS Tayside is the fourth largest healthcare provider in Scotland and one of only four teaching Boards. With strong links to local Universities, the Board provides tertiary services to around 350,000 people across Tayside and North East Fife, employing over over 13,000 staff across three hospital and many other sites. Primary and community care services are currently organised into three Health and Social Care Partnerships (HSCPs) in Dundee city, Perth and Kinross and Angus which are overseen by Integration Joint Boards. Our ambition is to be regarded as a sector leader in the provision of high quality patient care.

We are transforming the way we deliver healthcare through the Transforming Tayside programme; an ambitious programme of whole-system redesign which seeks to find solutions and new ways of delivering health and care, which is led by our clinicians. It is rooted in maintaining safe, high-quality patient care, remodelling our workforce and improving outcomes whilst bringing the organisation back into financial balance. Whilst seeking to implement fundamental transformation towards modern world class services, the Board also has to address underlying financial, workforce and service delivery issues.

To thrive in this role the new Nurse Director will share our vision, aim and values and will provide inspirational and empowering leadership to our nurses and midwives and ensure a culture of continuous quality improvement where patients and service users are put first always. Key to this will be the establishment of robust governance and regulatory frameworks to ensure effective monitoring, review and improved clinical performance across the Board and the Health & Social Care Partnerships.
