Job Description
Job Title: D&A DYW Employer Liaison Advisor
Reporting to: D&A DYW Manager
Position: Support Grade: D&A 8
Purpose
To act as a first point of contact between local employers and stakeholders to facilitate engagement with schools, D&A College and other relevant organisations that work with young people, to increase career awareness and employability opportunities for young people. Provide responsive and high quality services to employer and other external clients, which ensures opportunities for young people to engage with employers throughout their education are fully exploited.
Operate on a Dundee and Angus wide basis, in partnership with D&A DYW Board Members and partner agencies to promote the range of services on offer to support workforce development and recruitment opportunities for young people.
Accountabilities / Areas of Responsibility
1. Employer and stakeholder engagement
To be proactive in expanding and strengthening public, private and third sector relationships by adopting a range of customer engagement strategies.
Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders and partners to create a culture of collaboration, ensuring employers and partners are advised of the opportunities to engage with educational partners to support youth employment and career education.
Perform an account management function with designated employers and partners ensuring customer expectations are exceeded and long term, sustainable partnerships between employers and education are established and maintained.
Act in an ambassadorial capacity ensuring all customer engagement activities are carried out to a high standard in accordance with the overall strategy of the D&A DYW.
Proactively source customer feedback in collaboration with D&A DYW partners, ensuring key deliverers of the education service provision for young people are informed and any subsequent actions are implemented.
Contribute towards the continuous improvement and development of customer relationship management (CRM) systems and any other processes for tracking and monitoring customer engagements
Maintain accurate customer engagement records utilising automated CRM systems and other information capture processes as required.
2. Business Development
Contribute to the identification and proactive targeting of employer and partner organisations who can contribute to and participate in D&A DYW activities, ensuring all associated activities are delivered to a high standard.
Undertake market research activities with D&A DYW stakeholders to ensure employers/ industries with skills demands are prioritised to ensure job opportunities and access to up to date labour market information are maximised for young people.
Adopt an entrepreneurial and proactive approach when promoting DYW across Dundee and Angus to ensure all opportunities are exploited.
Produce reports, proposals, and project plans for employers and educational partners outlining agreed milestones to be achieved by all parties.
Actively provide support to education colleagues in planning DYW activity to support employer engagement within agreed, achievable milestones.
Utilise centralised D&A DYW systems to host all employer engagement related documentation.
Provide reports on the level and type of employer engagement and the pipeline of D&A DYW activity.
Contribute to the creation and implementation of promotional material and targeted campaigns to promote DYW to stakeholders
Promote the use of on-line platforms MarketPlace and Founders4Schools with employers and education, and support their use with stakeholders through providing practical advice and guidance and escalating any issues encountered in a timely and appropriate way
3. Management of Projects
Increase employers’ engagement in schools and college, including, but not limited, to offering careers talks, workplace visits, work shadowing/experience, industry advisory board participation, mentoring support, curriculum support and input, in line with employers’ personal and organisational capacity and expertise
Act as an enabler of employer engagement with young people to increase awareness of employment and career opportunities, broker relationships, remove barriers to labour market participation and create capacity to recruit and develop young people
Support the development and maintenance of an effective customer relationship database and tracking system to underpin all D&A DYW engagements and activities.
To manage employer and industry related projects and events to ensure achievement of project milestones and deliverables for the employer, the education provider and the young person
To deal effectively with operational issues relating to customer and activity record keeping To ensure regular liaison with all stakeholders in order to ensure their successful
involvement in project and event activity where appropriate. To successfully implement effective evaluation, guidance, planning and review procedures. Work to achieve the implementation of the DYW D&A operational plan, and contribute to
its evolution and improvement through identifying and taking steps to mitigate or escalate any risks to or slippage in its achievement
4. Communication
Demonstrate a professional and responsive approach in all forms of communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Participate and help coordinate as necessary internal and external meetings, work groups and events.
Contribute to developing a positive team ethos with colleagues and partners in D&A DYW displaying a ‘can do’, solutions oriented attitude towards all work practices.
Adopt strategies to maximise personal accessibility to all stakeholders. Act as a D&A DYW Champion by making the business community and educational partners
aware of DYW and the economic significance and positive educational impact of DYW activity
To ensure that all opportunities for business engagement with schools and D&A College are fully investigated, co-ordinated and exploited
Create consistent and simplified promotional messages for employers through utilising collective partners’ resources and the various channels available to the team (e.g. social media, website, newsletter)
Help implement the DYW communications plan to increase awareness of DYW and to engage employers in understanding how DYW can add value to their business
Together with the D&A DYW Manager, proactively target increased participation of young people with protected characteristics to benefit from engagement with employers
To establish and maintain collaborative local partnerships where these provide positive opportunities or benefits to the D&A DYW.
5. Administration
Work in partnership with the D&A DYW administration team to ensure compliance with all aspects of administration, external agency requirements and all external and internal audit requirements.
Maintain accurate records in line with D&A DYW procedures.
6. Health, Safety & Wellbeing
Ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and with the College’s and D&A DYW partners Health and Safety Policies and procedures.
Ensure that all work placements which are undertaken comply with the appropriate level of Health and Safety procedures
Undertake safety training/instruction on an ongoing basis as required.

EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION FULL TIME SUPPORT POSTS
Superannuation
Support staff of Dundee and Angus College automatically join the Local Government Pension Scheme administered by Dundee City Council. Contributions are based on pensionable earnings in line with the Local Government Pension Scheme. This is a career average salary pension scheme with a tiered employee contribution rate.
Holidays
The leave year for support staff currently runs from 1 September to 31 August. You will be entitled to 45 days annual leave per annum (pro-rata if less than one year's service or part-time) inclusive of college closure days.
Hours of Work
Your hours of work will be 35 per week with one hour (unpaid) for lunch.
Probationary Period
You will be on a six month probationary period. After this period your position will be made permanent should there be no performance related issues. If performance related issues are highlighted during this period then your probationary period may be extended. If those performance related issues do not improve then the employer may terminate your contract giving one weeks’ notice.
Sickness/Absence
Eligibility to sickness allowance is dependent upon length of continuous service at commencement of absence as follows:

Salary paid during periods of absence is inclusive of Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) if an employee is eligible. If an employee has insufficient National Insurance

contributions they may not be eligible for SSP. Self-certificate forms and/or doctor's medical certificates will be required at all times.
Remuneration
The rate of remuneration will be in accordance with the provisions of collective agreements reached from time to time. This includes agreements reached by the National Joint Negotiating Committee and by the local College Joint Negotiating Committee.
Salary will £25,611 - £28,068 per annum.
A month's pay is 1/12th of the full annual salary.
Location
We have 3 campuses: Kingsway Campus which includes the Space, Gardyne Road Campus and Arbroath Campus. Staff may be requested to work at any of the Dundee and Angus College campuses. Reimbursement is available for essential travel between campuses. Please note that this post is based at Dundee & Angus Chambers of Commerce.

Dundee and Angus College is committed to the continuous development of its staff in order to meet strategic, operational and team objectives.
