How to start your own online business

Here are some basic tips on how you canstart your own online business and the initialsteps you would need to take!!

1. Decide on a Service or product youwish to sell

Once you have decided on a product or aservice that you wish to sell or provide thenyou need to invest. You will either beinvesting time or money, or in someinstances both, to ensure your business getsoff to a good start. You cannot sellsomething, without stock or product. Youcannot offer a service, without investing timeinto that product.

2. Get a Name for your Business

Once you have your product or your service, you need tocome up with a clever or quirky name, so that you will not onlyfeel proud of your company business name, but wherebycustomers and clients can relate to your product.

3. Get Contacts

Your Next Step is to market yourself and build up a goodclient list. If you do not have clients, nobody is going to buyyour product or your service. Ideally you want to branch outand get as much exposure as possible, in order that you canmarket yourself and your product or service properly. It maybe worth investing in a good company that can help youoptimize your website or help you with your advertising.

Marketing is crucial to any online business. Withoutexposure, you will not have clients and without clients, you willnot make money!

4. Set up Social Media Sites

Social Network sites are an excellent way to reach out to people. From these platforms, you w ill be able tonetwork and reach out to more people and this will help your business grow. Your first and most important task, isto set up a domain name, sign up with a web builder and start advertising your products or service. Then youadvertise your site on your social media sites to get more exposure. From that point you can sell your product.

5. Set up your mailing lists

Mailing lists are very important to keep clients in touch with your growing business, and ever expanding products

or services. Get clients to sign up or to follow you on your social networks so that they can keep updated withanything you may have on offer. A good idea is to getpeople to subscribe to your mailing lists.

6. Invest and Start making money

I have a stamp company and without investing in buyingnew stock and stamps, I would not have anything to sell. The same can be said for any online company. Once youhave invested, whether it be a physical product or small coststo set up domains and websites, you need to invest. Youhave to throw something in, in order to get something out. Ensure that if you are going to start an online business, or anidea, that you decide upon, that you commit and give it 100%time, effort and energy.

Keep doing market research to know if your product orservice is thriving or failing. Once you know where you stand,you will know how to adapt or change your business to themarket trends.

7. Run a Special Offer or Promotion

This is a good idea to get clients in the door. Offer gifts,discounts or free special offers to grab their attention anddraw them to your site.

8. Follow up with your existing clients to get newbusiness

Once you have clients, look after them, and ensure youkeep in touch. They can help you grow your business andeven invest in more of your product or service.
