I would say that I’d like support as long as it didn’t add weight to the shoe or restrict movement, which I’m guessing it would. Yes, a true cross trainer should be able to be used on all surfaces, but I’d expect them to slip a bit on grass. synthetic – I can do without the mesh since it tends to rip on me. Gym, athletic events, walking around town, non strenuous hikes The perfect training shoe for me is lightweight and allows for a lot of motion. This shoe feels like I’m wearing a sock, but has the grip that will allow me to perform athletic movements without wearing about slipping. I have an Adidas shoe that does this, but looks lame. I don’t want the shoe to look futuristic. I want the shoe to look manly without bright colors or odd designs. I’m not saying that it should stand out, but it shouldn’t look so trendy that it’s dated quickly. The shoe should allow me to do squats, work, and go for a job without worrying that my feet are going to suffer. Give a little. I think the give allows for a more athletic movement. I also think that men that age are looking more towards lighter shoes that make them feel like they’re walking on air.
