Three superb sparkling's across varieties and style. Top wine showed complexity from age and Chardonnay richness. Non medal wines had green fruit notes and fermentation issues.

Lots of great drinks here. A lot of wineries giving a great showcase for the region. A few flat or oaky wines but generally this was as strong as it gets in this show. Power, poise and elegance in the top wines.

Big array of new and emerging styles/varieties - while not "new" to the old world, they are here. End result is some experimentation and best part is, we as customers benefit. Three quite different Golds with the top being the vibrant, perfectly structured Mencia. Viticulture and vintage conditions will play a part as some wines showed shaded fruit/unripe edges. Exciting times.
