LIVING PAST MASTERS OF ENGLEWOOD 360
WM, Denis Doome (right); presents Master
Mason certificates from the Grand Lodge
State of Florida F&AM, to: Jack Gray III; Dane
Grosnickle; Wm. Boyer; and Paul Katrenak.
Brother Max E. Nosker was presented
his 50 year service award at the
Englewood Lodge. Max was raised in
Indiana, at Masonic Lodge # 686 in
1965.
In January 2005, he became a
member of Englewood.
Shown in this photo are: Denis Doome,
Worshipful Master; Max E. Nosker,
recipient; and Right Worshipful, John
Wermann conducting the Award.
May 19th 2015 will be here before we
know it and on that date Samuel Levin,
center, will become a Centenarian. For ¼
of those years he has been a Mason. He
worked for all those 25 years to support
his Fraternity and Community. Recently
the Englewood Masonic Lodge presented
brother Levin his 25-year recognition
award. Right Worshipful Gene Jeffers
(left) conducted the ceremony and
presented Sam his award. Worshipful
Master Denis Doome is on the right.
The Englewood Masonic Lodge #360 adopted Kathy Wylie and her Kinder Garden
class at Vineland Elementary School. A contingent of Masons from the Lodge visited
Vineland where they met with the Principal, Laura Blunier; Assistant Principal,
Jacqui Barber; Class Assistant, Gaby Redmann, and the students.
This effort is part of a state-wide-initiative promoted by the Grand Lodge of Florida
FROM THE EAST
My Brothers,
Last month we adopted a kindergarten class & teacher. It was a joy to see the smiles on the children's faces and the teacher also.
We also delivered our first box of canned goods to Helping Hands to help feed the less fortunate.
We are doing good on both our BBQ’s and I thank all the brothers for their support.
We have restored electric power to the BBQ pit area and shed, and have installed LED lights (they never need replacing) on our main
sign at the end of the driveway.
We had our first Golden Horseshoe showing on the 8th of February. No one from district 27 challenged our team (WM and SW) so we
retain the golden horseshoe. We will see what happens this month.
I want to thank all the craft & officers for making my job as WM enjoyable and rewarding.
Fraternally Yours,
Worshipful Master, Denis Doome
From the West
"My view from the West"
While sitting in my station in the West I have a great view of the lodge. I can look to the East and see leadership and
action. I can look to the South and see dedication and hard work. I can look to the four corners of the lodge and see officers
in every chair that care about the lodge and act like it. I can look in to the faces of our past masters on the side line and see
renewed confidence and joy. I can look around the room and see fresh faces and lots of first time visitors. I can see brothers
who are back that have been away too long and of course I can see brothers who are always there no matter what... I can
see the lodge pulling together and getting stronger and yes my brothers, I do like my view from the West.
Keep up the great work and remember "It takes a village"
Fraternally
Stoney Stonecipher, Senior Warden
FROM THE SOUTH
Well, another month is about to close and once again we have enjoyed some great success with our chicken BBQs. I want
to thank those that helped and encourage more brothers to come out and join in the fellowship and fun times we have while
preparing the BBQ.
I also encourage more brothers to come a bit early for the meetings and bring your appetite. I will continue to try to raise the
bar on the meals we prepare, and your feedback will be helpful. I also encourage you to bring your significant other to the
meal before the meeting and welcome them to stay and socialize while we go into the Lodge Room. Just let me know so
that I can make sure that I have enough meals to feed everyone.
With that in mind the meals for March will be:
1st Meeting : Chicken Cordon Bleu w/ Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Veggie and a Roll
2nd Meeting : BYOB (Build your own Burgers)
Toppings will include: Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, Onions, Cheese, and Bacon
Fraternally
Dan Van Alstine, Junior Warden "'3 TIMES 3' - In ancient times the Entered Apprentice Degree was alone prevalent amongst the generality of our Lodges; for no Brothers could be
passed and raised except in the Grand Lodge, and few availed themselves of the privilege. Hence they had only one sign, one token, and one word, and these three constituted the honors. But the members of the Grand Lodge had three signs, three tokens, and three words, and
therefore, three times three were appropriately termed the Grand Honors.“ from the September 1974 Bulletin of the Masonic Relief Association
of the U.S. and Canada (5)
Masonic Education
We are speculative Masons, not operative Masons. We are dated to the 17th century with the first Grand Lodge of 1717 in England.
However, most of our laws, rules and regulations recognized today began several hundred years before. The key item that helped to
govern modern Freemasonry was a book called the Regis Manuscript in the 1300’s. It is a book of poems, songs, codes and thoughts
related to our craft.
