General information on connecting addi-tional tail lampsTail lampsThere are 3 types of tail lamps:
• Compact 7-chamber lamp assembly• LED lamp• 7-chamber lamp assembly
Additional tail lamps can be connected in the following two ways:
1. Connection via cable harness for twin tail lamps.2. Connection via bodywork cable harness in frame.
The cable harness in connection instructions 1 is a complete cable harness which can be connected to the vehicle’s standard connector. The cable harness and connector fit all types of lamps and are available from Scania dealers.
The compact 7-chamber lamp assembly is a shorter option, e.g. for trucks with a tail lift. It is certified in Europe for horizontal mounting.
Note:Comply with local legal requirements when fitting tail lamps on underrun protection.
All three lamps have the same hole template for fitting.
Note:If the LED tail lamp is fitted on a tractor, an adapter plate is required that moves the lamp out approx. 50 mm sideways.

The individual chassis specification (ICS) can be ordered together with the individ-ual main dimension drawing (ICD) under Drawings (requires login).
The parts can be purchased from a Scania dealer.
Connection optionsThere are two different connection options depending on which control unit for the regulation of sight and visibility functions the vehicle is equipped with. The latest one is called CUV2 in the document and the previous one CUV1. The control unit version can be seen from the vehicle’s individual chassis specification, ICS. The con-nection alternatives do not have any clear chassis number limit, therefore variant codes are used instead.

Alternative 2: Connection via bodywork cable har-ness in frameWork descriptionObtain the signals for the additional tail lamps from the connector for standard func-tions, C489, and from the central electric unit. The signals are bridged to connector C494 which passes the signals on to the DIN connectors under the cab via the option bodywork cable harness from cab to frame.
The option Bodywork cable harness in frame is to be connected to the DIN connec-tors and then routed to the tail lamps.
For vehicles manufactured up to 8 March 2011, the bodywork cable harness connec-tions can be found on the upper part of the left-hand wheel housing.
