To create the Creation Pull and Find Board, here are the step-by-step instructions: 1. Print the Copy and Clip Creation Pull and Find Board template (on page 4) on regular printer paper. Have your child color in the images. 2. Cut your poster board to 5 ½” x 10 1/4” and reserve the scrap pieces. Center and adhere your Copy and Clip template to the poster board (you can use a sticker-making machine for this step, if you wish). 3. Using the hole punch, punch out holes for each day along the leſt margin, then punch out holes for each image along the right margin (see image 1, page 3). CREATION PULL AND FIND BOARD

Pull and Find Boards are excellent teaching tools for engaging young children. These boards are a great alternative for little hands that cannot manage using our Wraparound activities (which can also be found within the “Additional Resources” section on our website).

Like Wraparounds, information that can be paired together works well in this format. Pull and Find Boards are also great for travel—no pieces to lose along the way!

To create the Creation Pull and Find Board, here are the step-by-step instructions:

3. Using the hole punch, punch out holes for each day along the left margin, then punch out holes for each image along the right margin (see image 1, page 3).

4. With scrap pieces of poster board, cut 14 pieces into 1-inch squares and hole punch each. These will become your pull tabs.

5. Cut yarn into seven pieces roughly 15 inches in length. Thread one piece of yarn through a tab and tie the end, leaving the other end free. Repeat six more times (see image 2, page 3).

6. Starting with Day 1 on your Pull and Find Board, thread the free end of yarn through the Day 1 hole (on the left margin), across the back of the Board, and up through the corresponding hole punch for the Day 1 image (on the right margin). Secure end of yarn by threading through one of your remaining poster board tabs, tying the end. You should be able to pull one tab and see the other end move. Tabs act as stoppers as well so yarn won’t unravel.

7. Repeat step 6 with the remaining six days of creation and their corresponding images (here’s where your Bible may come in handy as a reminder).

8. It’s done! Enjoy helping your child pull the tabs to find out what God made or did on each day.

While creating and discussing this activity, you may appreciate referencing the following key scripture passages:

Account of creation week (Genesis 1)

All done decently and in order (1 Corinthians 14:40)

Fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14)

Teaching the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of God (Psalm 78:1-8)

Here are a few suggestions to expand on the idea of using Pull and Find Boards to teach biblical concepts:

Make a Pull and Find Board pairing men and women in the Bible (for example: Adam and Eve, Abraham and Sarah, Ananias and Sapphira, Boaz and Ruth, and so on).

Make a Pull and Find Board for the 10 Commandments or the Armor of God (use our premade templates by downloading the “Copy and Clip Wraparound Activity” from our “Additional Resources” section on our website).

Make a Pull and Find Board for the annual festivals and their meanings.

Make a Pull and Find Board for memory scripture practice and review.

Here are a couple suggestions to expand on the idea of using this activity to teach about the creation week:

Using the creation pictures from this activity, review the order of creation. Attach Velcro to make a Memory Stick craft (see our “Additional Resources” section on our website), or make magnets for the refrigerator.

Using the creation pictures from this activity, make a book about creation (enlarging the pictures, if desired).
