Adding Integers

Problem: In golf,the person with the lower score is playing better.With respect to par,Cathy scored –2,5,-1 & Diane scored –1,3,-2 during a 3day tournament. Who played better at the tournament?

Procedure!!! =}

First, take the numbers –2,5,-1 for Cathy. Then take numbers –1,3,-2 for Diane. Step 2: Add Cathy’s numbers: –2 plus 5 which equals +3,next add +3 plus –1… which equals +2. Lastly, subtract Diane’s numbers +2 to –2…which equals 0. Finally Diane wins because she has a lower score [0]… and Cathy has +2.

Subtracting Integers =D

Problem: A scuba diver was 25ft. below the surface of the water. She went down 20 more feet. How far was she below the surface of the water?

Procedure!!! =D

First, Subtract numbers: First, Subtract numbers: -25,-20. Since your -25,-20. Since your subtracting you have to subtracting you have to switch from subtracting switch from subtracting to adding, & -20 to adding, & -20 becomes a +20. becomes a +20.

Ways to use this in life!!!=D

The ways you can use adding and subtracting integers in life is if you owe somebody money and you want to know how much money you will have left.

This skill is important because if we didn’t have this we will never know how much you owe someone and will never get out of Debt.

We liked how you let us work on the laptops for our projects!!!!!

We also liked how we did hands on activities!!!!

We liked how you went step by step and showed how the steps are true, instead of just saying to do it!!!!!
