Please clarify the new addition roof/waterproofing system

assemblies. Drawing A500 calls for the fleece-back EPDM

roof/waterproof system to be adhered to ½” drainage mat,

4” min insulation (rigid per spec 072100) and ¾”

coverboard. This assembly as drawn and specified is not

achievable. Detail 3/A501 calls for a typical EPDM roof

assembly between the Vestibule & lobby, but a 2” min

tapered system does not meet state code requirements for R-

value. Also, there is no specification section for EPDM roofing

as detailed. Lastly, the new membrane roofing system

sandwiched between concrete deck & stair slabs as shown on

A504 cannot be tie into the paver assembly system called

out on A500. Please advise.

38 Drywall & Plaster

During the walkthrough it was noted that there was some

areas behind the stage in one of the storage rooms that had

water damage. There is no indication on the current

document for repair of this damage. Can you please

confirm that we are only to include patching and or work at

the locations indicated on the drawings?

DCC

Carry an allowance of 250 square feet of plaster patch for

the exterior wall damage in the room east of the stage, in

addition to the other allowances for MEP patching noted

elsewhere.

39 Drywall & Plaster

RCP A200 for the ground floor notes exposed structure at

mechanical space room G105. Sections 4 &6/A302 and

detail 2/A504 indicate drywall and rigid insulation at this

location. Please confirm we are to install drywall and rigid

insulation per the details.

DCCProvide drywall and insulation per wall sections and notes

on Drawing A504.

40 Drywall & Plaster

Please provide additional information on the dimensioning of

this space as the enlarged plan A402 cuts this area off. And

drawing A401 does not provide partition types. Drawing

A504 appears to show a knee wall below the drywall

underside of structure.

SPAMechanical room G105 is defined by the existing building and

the new walls which are dimensioned.

41 Drywall & Plaster

Drawing section 1/A502 at the interior notes to refinish new

5/8” ptd gwb throughout tech services and adult fiction. The

enlarged plan for tech services A731 and drawing A401 does

not indicate any work occurring inside of tech services with

the exception of the wall between tech services and adult

fiction and the ceiling. There are notes for new sheathing in

the fiction G107 space. Please confirm the requirements.

Also section 7/A302 is indicating what appears to be a soffit

on either side of the tech services space. The rcp on A200

does not indicate the materials of the ceilings in the tech

services or fiction room. The finish legend only notes ACT 1.

Please confirm if the perimeter soffits in these rooms are

new drywall and the requirements for these soffits. The

section appears to show the soffit at 10’6” and act @ 8’6”

but at the tech room the rcp notes the ceiling heights to be

8’6” and 8’8” and no height at the other soffit.

SPA

New construction soffits are 5/8" painted GWB. East soffit in

tech services is 8'-6". West soffit in tech services is 10'-6" with a

8'-8" ACT between them both.

43 Drywall & Plaster

On drawing A200 in the mezzanine space there is a note for

a bid alternate of a new window wall and associated

mechanical improvements. There is also a note 3 indicated

for this space which corresponds with patching for

mechanical work. Can you please confirm that the only

patch requirements in this space would occur under the bid

alternate #1 and that there is no base bid work in this areas.

Also please confirm how to quantify patching for mechanical

work.

DCCConfirmed, quantity of patching identified on drawings, bid

package scope of work and other RFI responses.

painting and plaster repair. There is no reference to plaster

repair in the alternate description. During the walk through

there were a few minor cracks noted and some voids noted

that appeared to be intentional. Can you please confirm

50 Roofing

The following is a request for information regarding the 20

oz. Verdigris pre-patinated copper that is specified on the

drawings for use on the flat seam copper panels as well as

the half round gutter & leader. This copper product is

specified in Section 074213.13 Formed Metal Roofing & Wall

Panels. In researching the three manufacturers specified, I

find that two of them are simply contracting firms, not

factory fabrication firms, and the other does not offer any

such product. Further research yields that typical copper

sheet suppliers such as Revere Copper & Hussey Metals no

longer offer such pre-patinated copper products of any kind.

I did find one manufacturer that offers a Verdigris copper sheet, but

it is only available in 3’ x 4’ sheets and is not of sufficient gauge to be

used here. However, I do find that Specification Section 076100 Sheet

Metal Roofing calls for the use of a non-patinated 20 oz. cold rolled

copper product with the Revere and Hussey companies listed as the

manufacturers of same. Therefore, I am asking for clarification of the

copper that is required for use on the project. Please review and

advise at your very earliest convenience to that I know how to

proceed.
