A day of ACTION On patrol with the Hamilton Police Service

March 15 was the InternaBonal Day Against Police Brutality and organizers held a protest in Hamilton, Ontario. Ironically, it was members of the Hamilton Police Service’s ACTION unit that safely guided the protestors through the streets.
While it might look like Constables Ryan Komadowski (L) and Greg Blunsdon (R) are issuing a Bcket to this driver, they are instead wriBng out direcBons on how to get to a local
hockey arena. The ACTION unit aims to create posiBve interacBons between the police and residents and tourists in Hamilton.
The ACTION unit has a shared office space at the Hamilton Police Service’s Central StaBon where officers, like Cst. Trevor Holmes, get their assignments before heading out on patrol. Officers also have access to CCTV cameras in various Hamilton locaBons.

Constable Trevor Holmes finds a large knife on the CN Rail corridor behind Hamilton’s detenBon centre. He collects the knife to take back to Central StaBon to ensure it has not
been reported in another crime.

However, before heading back to Central StaBon, Constable Trevor Holmes calls over some kids to give them Hamilton Police Service sBckers. He believes in the
importance of doing this so kids can remember the police posiBvely.
