CHORUSHaving met in textiles class in high school Cassandra Wheat and Louise Pannell have traversed dance floors, continents and fashion terrain together and view Chorus as a natural continuation of these adventures. The pair count a Masters in Milan, designing for Viktor & Rolf in Amsterdam, visual merchandising in London, and years of experience in the Australian fashion industry as lessons learnt. They are now industriously applying these lessons to Chorus - taking

it as an opportunity to establish a model that allows freedom of thought and creativity, that is neither locked to a cyclical calendar nor the derivative nature of established fashion systems. Each project, Chorus work with a new creative collaborator in a different way, exploring, stretching, reinventing ways to approach design process. The debut collection – The Wardrobe - Chorus asked friends and ecstatic surface designers Pinar&Viola to consider the reinvention of classic fashion print motifs, the outcome was applied garments that were Chorus’ exploration into the merging and twisting of fashion archetypes. The second collection due for release early 2014 – The Lab - brings to life a set of characters from an imagined world. The Doctor, Patient, Factory worker and Shopkeeper ensembles are refinements of costumes designed by Chorus for a live performance staged by artist Lucy McRae.
