INPUT PHASE HANDS-ON MAIN ACTIVITY PHASE FOLLOW-UP PHASE LESSON PLAN 1: PREPARATION ACTIVITIES LESSON 2: MEASURING ACTIVITIES (1) LESSON 3: MEASURING ACTIVITIES (2) LESSON 4: FOLLOW-UP ACTIVITIES WARM-UP: (TPR) Ask children to stand up in a circle and do what the teacher does by performing some actions in a fun way. Example: Teacher: I’m flying….I’m swimming. Kids: Repeating and performing the action in circle along with the teacher. WARM-UP The teacher writes two columns on the board, and in two groups, children go to the board to review animals by writing them on the board in the two columns accordingly. BIG ANIMALS ----- SMALL ANIMALS Elephant Bird Bear Ant (WRITING ACTIVITY) WARM-UP Singing with animals.. Children will sing a song about animals along with the teacher to practice listening and pronunciation. WARM-UP The teacher will give each kid an animal to imitate or act like it and the kids have to read it and then, stand up to perform the animal imitation. The class has to guess the animal. The kid acts like a monkey or a dog… PRESENT NEW LANGUAGE Animals (flashcards for presentation) CHECK HOMEWORK Check kid’s assignment. Children describe their two different animals and movements to the class. CHECK HOMEWORK The teacher revises the kids’ assignments from the previous class and classifies the animals on the board accordingly. CHECK HOMEWORK The teacher will show all the posters to the class, pointing at different animals for the children to say the animal name and whatever description they can remember. INTRODUCE PHYSICAL RESPONSE ACTIVITY The teacher puts some flashcards with animals that they already know on the board (or on the floor) and he says.. I can jump…. I can climb. The kid goes to the board quickly, touches the animal and says its name. (TPR /LISTENING) PRESENT NEW LANGUAGE Classifying animals The teacher will write two columns on the board to ask children to help him classify some animals using the flashcards. WILD ANIMALS ----- PETS Cat Crocodile Fish Snake PRESENT NEW LANGUAGE STORY: “Maggie from Magnesia” Reading and understanding a story. The teacher will read a story about a sheep to the students, showing the illustrations in the book. (READING AND LISTENING ACTIVITY) COMPLETE THE RESULTS The teacher reviews the lessons to reinforce the kids’ learning and check their progress. (connecting the previous activity with this one) REVIEW Choose one child to select an animal, Example: A kagaroo…a fish. Ask him/her..What can your animal do? Swim Write on the board…I’m a fish and I can swim. The next child selects another animal and says, “He is a fish and he can swim. I am a monkey and I can climb.” (performing the action) This should continue for as long as all the kids remember the animals learned in class. (SPEAKING ACTIVITY) ACTIVITY Children watch a VIDEO about “Old MacDonald had a farm” where they will hear different animals…at the end of the video, they will be asked what types of animals OldMacDonald has on his farm and the sound they make. (LISTENING AND SPEAKING) ACTIVITY Reviewing animals through a guessing game. Children write descriptions of animals for their classmates to guess. LANGUAGE PRACTICELearning chunks of language through (expressions and phrases with adjectives) The teacher writes these expressions on the board for the children to learn.I’m as large as a whale…..…I’m as nice as a bunny…I’m as cold as a frog……..I’m as quiet as a mouse…

LANGUAGE PRACTICECOLORING ANIMALS..Children color their favorite animals and write some information about them on their notebooks (such as color and movement)

HOMEWORKChildren have to do a glossary of the vocabulary, verbs, adjectives and animals that they learned throughout these activities.

ROUND UPIn groups of three or four, children organize and match some animals with their names.The teacher gives each group 5 animals and 5 names separately.

HOMEWORKChildren have to cut and paste some water and earth animals.

HOMEWORK

Children have to make a poster of different animals for the next class.
