HAWAN ON FOUNDATION DAY

Founded on 12th October 1997, DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad, is a leading Business School of India, under the direct control of DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi. The Institute is affiliated to Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak which is NAAC accredited with an institutional score of 80-85 percent. As an affiliate of M.D. University, DAVIM is the most preferred institution for studies in management and information technology in NCR. Since its inception the focus of the Institute has been on providing total quality education, know-how of the corporate world, Interface with the global economy, Corporate Social Responsibility with a passion for continuous improvement and excellence. To mark the celebrations of the foundation day and the joyous celebrations of completing 18 years, Hawan ceremony was organized and carried on by the Head of the Institute and the faculty members .

ORDINATION CEREMONY OF MBA-MCA TAKING OFF THE FLIGHT TO A NEW AMBIT

“Inculcate those things and groom yourself in such a way that an organization follows you to take you as an employee rather than, you, following an organization to become a part of it. To become a successful manager one must believe in himself and must answer three questions – what, why and when”.

This was transpired by the Chief Guest, Dr.S.K.Sharma, Director Colleges, DAVCMC to the students during the inaugural ceremony of the Induction Programme organized by DAV Institute of Management,

Faridabad from 21st Aug – 24th Aug 2015.

Welcoming all the MBA – MCA students of new 2015-2017 and 2015-2018 session, Dr. Sharma further added that education and skills are different and one must go out of the boundary of classes to inculcate and build skills needed in the industry. He motivated the students to be in contact with their alumni, go on summer trainings and industrial visit and utilize all the resources which the institute would provide. The ceremony was held in the decked up auditorium which manifested an aura of inspiring messages, encouragement and tips for success to the students by namely eminent speakers , Ms. Jaya Goyal, Mr. Arun Thukral, Dr. Dinesh Gupta from various industries and a renowned Life coach, Mr. Mahesh Sharma over the period of two days. In -house faculty, Dr. Himanshu Singh also showed the road to success to the future entrepreneurs. Pious ambience was created by DAV anthem and a video encouraging the students to go on the path of humanity.

Dr. Neelam Gulati, Head of the Institute, in her welcome address threw light on the trend and culture of the Institute and also discussed about institute’s vision and mission. She said, “We groom our students to perfection by taking three steps. Firstly, we start from day one, taking care of the institute’s dress code to their punctuality. All the soft skills required to become a good manager are inculcated within them through various activities. Secondly, we are proud to have best team of faculties with good industry experience for excellent classroom learning and teaching.

Thirdly, with their skills and capabilities we place them in renowned organizations for their better future”. Dr. Neelam Gulati further said that, a student becomes a shareholder when he/she joins our Business School.

With the promising note of taking the legacy of their successful seniors ahead, the new entrants exhibited vigor and energy to surpass all obstacles and reach to the pinnacle of success.

The entire MBA and MCA department wished the students all the best for their new arena of studies.

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION BY IBS A Teacher’s Day activity was organized on 3rd September 2015 in TARANG auditorium by joining hands with IBS Gurgaon. The students were motivated to write slogans on teacher’s day, including, qualities of a teacher and their importance in a student’s life. The students from all courses participated with full zeal and enthusiasm and drafted beautiful slogans and attractive and meaningful posters.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE SUSTECH-2015 “Sustainability” is the mantra of recent times. We are extracting a lot from the nature, but, not giving it back much and thus the need to hold talks, conferences, to make people understand the vitality of it is very important. Hence, following the custom of DAV’s, in initiating the projects of social importance and spreading general awareness regarding them, one of the pioneer institutes of DAVCMC, DAV Institute of Management Faridabad, under the aegis of the Head of the Institute Dr. Neelam Gulati, organized an international conference on technology for

sustainability – Engineering, Information Technology, Management and Environment – (SUSTECH-2015) in its decked up power-packed auditorium on 28th November 2015 in association with AR Research Publication, headed by Mr. Atul Kumar Sharma and Mrs. Reshu Gupta. The conference was inaugurated by

Sh. Prabodh Mahajan, Vice President DAVCMC, a pioneer pillar of constant strength, guide and motivation for the complete fraternity of DAVIM. The conference was adorned by other honorable distinguished guests, like, Dr. N.S. Gill (Professor & HOD - Comp. Sc., MD University, Rohtak) Dr. K.K. Saini (Director Principal Hindu College , Sonipat) and Sh. Devashish from Redeem Renewable Energy Ltd.

Sh. Mahajan shared his deep knowledge with the audience on the topic and stimulated them to venture into new arenas. Dr. N.S. Gill appreciated the significance of the organization of such conferences as these broaden the Management and IT subjects for a more enlightened scholarly enquiry.

All the sessions were well attended by distinguished scholars and students alike. The researchers were from diverse field with representation from Engineering, Computer Science, Social Studies, and many more. The sessions also saw the presence of the papers of many distinguished academicians and research scholars from many Indian States, including Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Uttrakhand and different countries including authors from Prairie View A&M University, USA, Agricultural University of Tirana, Albaria and South Africa.

Dr. Anamika Bhargava, Convener of the conference, Mrs. Priti Bali and all DAVIM faculty organized this conference in association with AR Research International Journals & Publications.

In all around 600 research papers were received and around 350 papers were selected for presentations like; from Nigeria, Iran also. The selected papers, 200, were published in different international journals of AR Research Publications having high impact factor and circulation in the country and abroad.

The head of the institute Dr. Neelam Gulati was overwhelmed with the participation and session ended with her remark of holding more of such conferences in future.

IMPORTANCE OF BRANDING IN THE CURRENT MARKETING SCENARIO A seminar on “Importance of Branding in the Current Marketing Scenario” was organized by IBS Professionals on 26th August 2015 for Under-Graduate Management students. The seminar was conducted by Prof. Kaul an alumnus of IIT Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad. He is a qualified trainer in sensitivity training by ISABS. He was accompanied by Ms Ranjita Gupta ,Assoc. Dean examination and area coordinator, IBS .

The speakers had put emphasis on the importance of branding i.e. Branding goes way beyond just a logo or graphic element. They postulated that, when you think about your brand, you really want to think about your entire customer experience. A good brand doesn't just happen. It is a well thought out and strategic plan. People tend to do business with companies they are familiar with. If your branding is consistent and easy to recognize, it can help people feel more at ease in purchasing your products or services.

INTER- COLLEGE COMPETITION OF PRESENTATIONS ON TRAINING REPORTS DAV Institute of Management, NH-3, NIT, Faridabad organized an Inter- College Competition of Presentations on Training Report of UG and PG students on 16th October 2015 in its Tarang Auditorium. Planned and organized by Research Cell (Management), it was inaugurated by lighting of lamp by Prof. N.P. Singh of MDI Gurgaon along with Principal Dr. Neelam Gulati, organizers Dr. Sunita Bishnoi, Dr. Hema Gulati and Judges of the day Dr. Jyoti Rana, Dr. Divya Jyoti Singh and Dr. Manpreet Kaur and Dr. Anjali Ahuja, in the presence of staff members and teacher-mentors of various participant students. In his opening address, Prof N.P.Singh called it a unique opportunity for students to showcase their real-life learning during their industry training and urged the organizers to make it a regular feature.

Overall 44 students of 10 different colleges participated enthusiastically in this event along with their teacher-mentors. In Post Graduate section, Jobin Joseph of Asia Pacific Institute bagged the first prize while Sumit Sharma of Rawal Institute of Management and Vaishali of NGF College of Engineering and Technology Palwal were declared 1st and 2nd Runner up respectively. In under

graduate section, Saloni of DAVIM bagged the first prize while Saras of JB Knowledge Park and Avinash of DAVIM were declared 1st and 2nd Runner up respectively. The faculty who judged the competition addressed the students to motivate them and encouraged them to find new avenues in their respective training organizations to work with. The Vote of Thanks was presented by Dr. Sunita Bishnoi, Incharge Research Cell (Mgmt) DAVIM Faridabad. SKIN AWARENESS CAMP

A Medical talk was organized on 17Tth September 2015 in DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad. Dr. Tarandeep Kaur MBBS, DVD (AFMC PUNE) of Torrent talked to the teens about sun protection, acne problems and about their personal hygiene. She made the students aware about the fact that everyone’s skin type and skin needs are different. Students curiously asked questions and were greatly satisfied with the talk.

MAXIMIZING THE INNER POTENTIAL A seminar on “Maximizing the Inner Potential’’ was organized on 20th August 2015 for undergraduate IT students. The session was taken by Dr. Nitin Arora, Associate Professor, in the area of Operation Management. He has taught at New York Institute of Technology, Jordan and also served as Vice President Academics at TAG University. He stressed on the realization of discovering one’s potential that allows changing one’s fate. And redefining one’s destiny that can change one’s life in the process of developing one’s potential. He pointed out that this will help one to understand what one can excel at and what one can become. Knowing that allows one to overcome the fate and make dreams come true. Audience showed great interest and promised to imbibe in the Learning

SEMINAR ON NEW AGE CAREER A Seminar on “New Age Career” was organized by NIT Professionals on 28th August 2015 for Under-Graduate Management students and IT students. The seminar was conducted to make the students aware about the India’s changing business models and emergence of new technologies that are positioning the country as a core growth market by global companies.

MIND, BODY AND SOUL A session on “Strengthen you Mind and Intellect’’ was conducted by senior Raj yoga and meditation teacher from B.K International University on 13TH August 2015. All first year management students attended it with full belief and conviction. The session focused on mind attention and how to strengthen the willpower and its positive impact on one’s words and actions too.

SESSION ON FIRST AID

DAVIM organized First aid training session by joining hands with Virohan an Institute of allied health and management sciences test ,from 22nd September to 29th September 2015 for all courses in TARANG auditorium. This activity was done to add value to the students’ overall learning and to enhance their skills so that by using First aid they can save lives and prevent minor injuries becoming major ones.

LECTURE ON AN IDEA CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE

As part of DAVIM Alumni Lecture Series, Mr. Arvind Bhaskar, Regional Head - Sales (North, East and Central India), Securitas India an alumnus from MBA 7th Batch visited the institution on 12th September 2015 and interacted with the current batches of MBA Programme. During the session Mr. Arvind shared his personal experiences, the industry profile and the aspects pertaining to the corporate arena based on his career. He also shared the importance of Innovations and Ideas in the current business scenario and how the aspirants can take the path of Entrepreneurship after the rigorous 2 year MBA curriculum.

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

As part of Alumni Lecture Series, Mr. Rahul Ranbir, Demand Supply Planner, Global Services, Nokia an alumnus from MBA 12th Batch visited the institution on 19th September 2015 and interacted with the current batches of MBA Programme. During the session Mr. Rahul shared his personal experiences, the industry profile and the aspects pertaining to the corporate arena based on his career. He also shared the importance of supply chain management and logistics in the current environment with the emergence of e-marketplace.

INTRODUCTION TO STOCK MARKETS

As part of Industry Lecture Series, Mr. Varun, MD and CEO, Profit Idea visited the institution on 8thOctober 2015 and interacted with the current batches of MBA Programme. Mr. Varun Aggarwal, Managing Director and CEO, Profit Idea, Gurgaon shared the various aspects and avenues relating to dynamics of stock Markets, Investment in Stock Markets, Fixed Income Schemes, Risk Management and Portfolio Development, Short term and Long Term Investments and other investment avenues.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE INDUSTRY AND CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

As part of Industry Lecture Series, Mr. Rahul Nanda, President – Sales, SM Foods Limited (Alumnus faculty member of the institute) visited the institution on 9thOctober 2015 and interacted with the current batches of MBA Programme. Mr. Nanda, presently the President – Sales at SM Foods, with a vast career experience of the F&B industry shared the various aspects and avenues relating to the FMCG industry in general and F&B in specific. He shared with the students the available career options in the industry, and how they need to prepare and equip themselves during their programme to cater to the needs of the industry.

GOAL SETTING

As part of Industry Lecture Series, Mr. Taksh Kumar, (Co-founder of GBS NGO and presently with JBM Group) visited the institution on 10thOctober 2015 and interacted with the current batches of MBA Programme. Mr. Kumar’s session was focused on the motivational aspect and with the help of various activities and business interventions he shared with the students the importance of goal setting. He also touched upon the team dynamics and leadership qualities that the students shall work on in order to be better equipped for the corporate world.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

As part of Industry Lecture Series, Sh. Jayant Kumar, (a senior level executive and presently the CFO at NHPC limited) visited the institution on 26thOctober 2015

and interacted with the current batches of MBA Programme.

Mr. Kumar’s session was focused on the aspects related to his area of expertise in Financial Management.

During the session he covered the applicability and implementation of budgeting and financial concepts in the real corporate scenario. He also covered other aspects pertaining to project evaluation and management from the financial perspective.

CASE STUDY – INDIA VS CHINA

As part of Guest Lecture Series, Dr. Savita, (Co-founder of Roshni NGO and presently with DAV College as Sr. Faculty) visited the institution on

29thOctober 2015 and interacted with the current batches of MBA programme. Dr. Savita shared with the students the currenteconomic and business environment and focused on the business scenario in context of Indian and Chinese economic conditions in form of a Case Study.

SEMINAR ON DISASTER MANAGEMENT DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad organized a seminar for students on “Disaster Management” at Tarang Auditorium on 1st October 2015. The programme started by welcome and tilak of Honorable guest Smt. Seema Trikha, MLA of Badhkal Vidhan Sabha and Mr. Neeraj Singh (HOD-Disaster Management, DAV College, Faridabad). Smt. Seema Trikha said that in Faridabad , Badkhal Lake was once a large lake where boating & other tourist activities took place. But now the lake is almost completely dried up to leave only grassy terrain.

Certain mines surrounding the lake are also responsible for blocking the flow of water to the lake. A number of mineral water companies are also responsible for lessening of water level. She motivated the students and faculty of DAVIM to launch a demand on C.M. window for the revival of the Badkhal Lake. Dr. Neelam Gulati, spoke few words on the need to maintain the Environment and how to manage lives when any kind of disaster occurs. The function was organized by the team of DAVIM faculty namely Ms. Monika Khatri, Ms. Shobha Bhatia, Ms. Poonam Singh, Ms. Bhumika, Ms Kanika and Ms. Deepika Pahuja. The students of DAVIM gave presentations on various topics which were judged by Mr. Neeraj Singh, Dr. Sunita Bishnoi, Dr. Anjali Ahuja, Dr. Ruchi Malhotra. The competition was won by students of UG course.

INTER COLLEGE DEBATE COMPETITION BY POWER GRID

An Inter-college debate competition was organized by Power Grid a govt orgnisation in collaboration with DAVIM on 29th Oct 2015 in TARANG auditorium .The topic of the debate was “Can India be Corruption free” and Chief Guest was Dr.N.K Pandey (Director, Asian Hospital,Faridabad).The students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The judges of the competition were Dr. Ritu Arora, Dr. Sarita Kaushik , Ms. Pooja Kaul and Dr. A.k Arora. The students of DAV Centenary College won the Ist Prize of Rs. 7000 and students of DAV Institute of Management won the 2nd prize of Rs. 5000 and many others were given complementary Prizes.

TONGUE IS MIGHTER THAN SWORD

A debate competition was organized on 12thSeptember 2015 in TARANG auditorium at DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad. The competition saw the young brains expressing their views and opinions on different topics. The program was attended by more than 150-students. There were 9 teams from all courses. The participants participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. As the program progressed, participants and audience showed great interest. The topics of debate were Women cannot successfully combine Career and Home, Banning Fashion Shows and New Year Parties Can Save our Culture etc. The winners for Debate Competition on 12th September 2015 were:- Ist Positon - Mr. Vaibhav and Mr. Rohit ( BBA-Ist Sem), 2nd Position-Ms. Sugandha and Mr. Sumit(BBA-3rd Sem)

SWARANJALI-2K15

DAV Institute of Management (DAVIM), Faridabad organized “Swaranjali-2K15”, a singing competition on 08th August 2015 to boost the talent of the students through the medium of singing. The students of all UG and PG courses participated enthusiastically. The competition was at three levels; Solo, Duet and Group songs. The audience applauded and encouraged the participants and enjoyed the event. The event was a great success. The winners of the competition were:

SOLO: 1st – Prashant (BBA-Industry Integrated), 2nd – Nidhi (BCA)

DUET: 1st – Yogita & Sumit (BBA), 2nd – Gunjan & Hema (MBA)

GROUP SONG: 1st-Bhawna & group (BBA-Industry Integrated) , 2nd- Arvind Bhatia & Group (BBA-CAM).

Dr. Neelam Gulati, Head of the Institute appreciated the efforts of all participants and motivated the winner’s with awards. She encouraged the students to participate more in such kinds of extra -curricular activities.

QUIZ:A TRIBUTE TO DR. ABDUL KALAM-The Peoples’ President DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad organized a Quiz competition on the life, journey and achievements of Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on 1st August 2015 in the institute’s “Tarang” auditorium to pay homage to Great Indian Visionary who is popularly known as People’s President. The programme started with the short message by Dr. Neelam Gulati, Head of the Institute. In her address to the students and the faculty, Dr. Neelam Gulati highlighted the lifelong achievements of our late former president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, recipient of the coveted Bharat Ratna ,Missile man. The speech was followed by Quiz Competition on the life- journey and achievements of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam in which teams, constituted of four students from all courses, like MBA, MCA, BBA, BBA-CAM, BBE, B.Sc. (Hons.) Comp. Sc., BCA & BBA-(II), participated with full enthusiasm. The team of BBA (Business Economics) won the quiz. The quiz was followed by a Show Case Video presentation on life journey & achievements of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. In the end the movie “I am Kalam” was showcased. The programme was well organized and coordinated by Dr. Ritu Arora, Ms. Pooja Ahuja, Ms.Juhi Kohli, Ms. Ritu Gautam, Ms. Shobha Bhatia, Dr. Ruchi Malhotra & other faculty members.

The winning team was awarded with special shields. The winners were: Ist Position:-Ms. Neha Mehta,Ms. Vibhuti,Ms. Nidhi Bali- BBA(BE) and the 2nd Position was bagged by Mr. Shubhang,Ms. Anjali,Ms Shruti S. Nair,Ms. Tushar. It was concluded by the National Anthem.

DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad, following the DAV philosophy, imbibed in their pursuing Post Graduate, M.B.A and M.C.A students and the Faculty members, the awareness on Organ Donation on 11th September 2015.The seminar was initiated by the qualified trainers from MOHAN Foundation, Multi Organ Harvesting Aid Network., which is a not-for-profit, registered non-government charity organization in India that works in the field of deceased organ donation and transplantation.

The session was taken by their core trainer and a great humanist Dr. Muneet Sahi and her accomplice Chaitanya. In the session, Dr. Muneet ,explained the concepts of organ donation and transplantation primarily focusing on the types of donations, how to diagnose brain death, tissue donation and the Transplant law of India. She concluded the session by showing a short film on brain death. She vested on Vedanta philosophy that rests on giving and serving. She postulated, “What we take with us are results of good karma. We don't take our bodies after death.”Almost 250 participants attended the session and around 190 donor cards were picked up.

The Head of the DAV Institute of Management Dr. Neelam Gulati thanked Dr. Muneet Sahi and appreciated her efforts in propagating the advantages of Organ Donation and herself pledged to be a proud donor. She added that theirs was a novice step towards breaking the myths of people in organ donation and spreading the message of humanity. She also felt proud of her students in promising to spread the awareness amongst their group and thanked the faculty for coming forward and pledging their organs.

The seminar culminated with Dr. Neelam Gulati quoting Winston Churchill’s words, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

SEMINAR ON NEW AGE CAREER A Seminar on “New Age Career” was organized by NIT Professionals on 28th August 2015 for Under-Graduate Management students and Under-Graduate IT Students. The seminar was conducted to make the students aware about the India’s changing business models and emergence of new technologies that are positioning the country as a core growth market by global companies.

CAREER IN BANKS AND E -ACCOUNTING A seminar on “Career in Banks and E -Accounting” was organized by HDFC Professionals on 6th August 2015 and 7th August 2015 for undergraduate management students. Their focus was based on four core values – Customer Focus, Operational Excellence, Product Leadership and People. It was attended by Under-Graduate Management students and Under-Graduate IT students with full enthusiasm.

CAREER IN CIVIL SERVICES A workshop on “Career in Civil Services’’ was organized on 21st August 2015 for students by joining hands with Bharat Academy of Civil Services. The motive of workshop was to make students aware about the eligibility for the civil services and how to prepare for the qualifying examination. The civil services examination is basically a test to choose suitable administrators. It tests the candidate right from the stage when one starts to prepare. A candidate should have the right frame of mind and the will power to succeed in the exam. A proper action plan is needed for the preparation itself since he /she will be tested for some essential qualities like power of retention, clarity of concepts, ability to identify the correct alternatives with efficiency and accuracy. All this require a quick decision making power. The workshop covered all the above given frames.

GAIETY CELEBRATIONS WITH ROSHNI(NGO) One can get happiness by spreading it. And following the legacy of Anglo Dayanand Vedic Culure, the faculty of DAVIM brought smiles to the faces of the little angels at Roshni foundation by birthday celebrations.

B.Sc (Hons) Computers Science Department celebrated their kids’ birthday by distributing sweets and gifts to Roshni foundation school children on 26th September 2015. The Head of the Institute, Mrs. Neelam Gulati, also did her bit,in this social cause by giving cash donation for children.

DIWALI MELA-ROSHNI(NGO)

Following the tradition of social service , DAV Institute of Management ,Faridabad , took the initiative for organizing the Diwali Mela on 8th Nov’2015 ,for under privileged students of ROSHNI(NGO) for making their their Diwali, a real joyous one. DAVIM gave the NGO, Roshni, a platform in which they had set up stalls of eatables and gift materials. The zealous students of DAVIM , took the initiative and coloured beautiful diyas and made traditional cards and whatever money they got after selling them was given to the children of NGO, Roshni. And, in this noble task, the Head of the Institute , Dr. Neelam Gulati, gave her full support and appreciated the efforts of the students in lightning up the Diwali of the children of Roshni.

In an attempt to make learning fun, DAV Institute of Management had organized “ Diwali Funfair’’ stall in the premises itself. The theme of the stall was to enhance the coordination of hand and mind with the help of games. As we all know that Games can improve reflexes for situations where you need to act fast. One

minute games were organized for students and it was named“ Bazi ek minute ki”. The students participated in full zeal and with great enthusiasm. It was coordinated by the MBA students. This activity was organized to promote learning through fun-based activities and make students confident in self-learning.MBA students even participated in food stall. Good number of footfall made the fair a grand success.

EFFECTIVE CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT: SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES

Faculty development and Publications department had organised Faculty Development Programme on Effective Classroom Management: Skills and Techniques on 19th Sept, 2015. Dr. Ritu Gandhi Arora- Director FDP and Publications department had introduced resource persons with the participants and made them aware about the objective of the session.

The programme started with an Ice Breaking session- Lesser Known followed by various management activities like Mud & Sculpture (An activity depicting teacher student relationship) and how a teacher can be a mentor for her students. Trainers also detailed about the classroom environment by explaining perception, teachers and students’ behaviour, resources and content. They also explained the role of teacher in the changing environment and what qualities a teacher should possess.

It was a fruitful interactive session in which all the discussions were held among faculties & trainers regarding the techniques of managing the students, making the lecture more effective, improvement techniques for mentoring students & making a strong bond between two for the effective classroom management. The session was well appreciated by all the faculty members who attended the same.

PRESENT SCENARIO AND FUTURE PROSPECTS IN IT INDUSTRY

DAV Institute of Management had organized One day Faculty Development Programme on “Present Scenario and Future Prospects” in IT Industry on 16th Oct, 2015. The objective of this FDP was acclimatizing the faculty, research scholars and academicians with new trends in the field of Information technology. The FDP was started with an inaugural address by Dr. Neelam Gulati who very succinctly and lucidly outlined the objective of the session and welcomes Prof. N.P.Singh from MDI (Resource Person).

Prof. Singh provided insights on the practical framework and applications of information technology in today’s industry, familiarized the participants about the artificial intelligence, how it’s capturing the market and where it is heading. All the dignitaries appreciated DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad by stating

that the FDP will prove to be an excellent endeavor made by the institute. At the end, Dr. Ritu Gandhi Arora, Director, FDP Cell extended her heartiest thanks to Dr. N.P. Singh, all delegates and dignitaries for making this event a grand success.

SWIMMING COMPETITION

A proficient swimmer, Hitesh Khanna, BCA student manifested his swimming abilities by bagging Bronze medal in 50 m free style inter-college swimming competition which went on from 17th September 2015 to 22nd September 2015 in MDU University Rohtak.

BADMINTON PROWESS “Every champion was once a contender that refused to give up.” Rocky Balboa. The energetic students of DAVIM, proved their mettle by participating in the Inter - college Badminton Championship, which was held from 7th Sep to 9th September 2015 at Sports Complex , Rohtak. The students left no stone unturned and proved their team spirit by synergizing their efforts and determined will.

SWIMMING CHAMPIONS “Train like and athlete, Eat like a nutritionist, Sleep like a baby and Win like a champion.”

DAVIM’s swimmers participated in the Inter – college Aquatics and Swimming Competition which was organized at University Swimming Pool, MDU from 17th September 2015 to 19th September 2015 and won bronze medal by bagging the third prize.

GAME OF HIGHEST BALL “The strength of the group is the strength of the leader.” Vince Lombardi, DAVIM sports freaks participated in Inter – college Volleyball championship organized from 28th September 2015 to 2nd October 2015 at Govt. College, Bahadurgarh. Participating in such championships strengthen the team spirit amongst the participants and inculcate in them the need to learn sportsmanship.

BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP Inspired by the legendary Vijender Singh, the boxers of DAVIM participated Inter – college Boxing Competition held at Sports Complex MDU from 12th October 2015 to 13tH October 2015. It was a great opportunity for them to manifest their boxing skills.

CRICKET CHAMPIONSHIP Cricket is taken up like a religion in India. So, how our champions could be left behind from the fever of cricket. Hence, our prodigies in cricket participated in Inter – college Cricket Championship organized at K.L.College , Rewari from 16th October to 27th October 2015.

ARJUNA ARCHERY Arjun had his focus on the eye of the fish and the same concentration was expected from our ace-archers and they stood up to the expectations of their teacher and won bronze medal in the Inter – college Archery Competition organized from 19th ctober 2015 to 21st October 2015 at Aggarwal College and Jiva School .

FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP Football requires the commitment of the team members and the well practiced strategy and the same was at display when our DAVIM students participated in the Inter-college Football championship organized at Pt. N. R. S College, Rohtak from 9th October 2015 to 14th October 2015.

TRAINING AND PLACEMENT Training and Placement cell at DAVIM, has been working diligently for making our vivacious students make a mark for themselves in this competitive arena and beginning their career at a positive note, by being placed in worthy companies. The companies are contacted by the Placement office or Placement cell and invitations are extended, providing relevant information and the placement brochure.

A detailed schedule is prepared by the Placement Cell evaluating the job offer, prospects, student intake and the like. The schedule is confirmed with all the companies that have applied to recruit and thus the following companies have visited the institute for On campus Drive: “ Woxa Technologies Pvt. Ltd.” and “ 3H Health Care Pvt. Ltd.”
