Peace Mitchell & Katy GarnerSisters Peace & Katy are passionate about supporting mums. In 2006, following Cyclone Larry, they worked tirelessly to support mums with young families through their non-profit organisation Mothers Helping Others. Peace formerly a teacher and Katy a community events coordinator, having found their purpose in helping Mums, knew they could help even more families by reaching out to an online audience and in 2009 together began work on their online business the AusMumpreneur Network, an online community specialising in supporting, celebrating and empowering mums in business through a range of online courses, networking, an annual Awards and Conference, books, magazines and blog.

Despite living in a rural town with a population of just 8000 (Innisfail in Tropical North Queensland) they quickly grew their business to a national community of over 17,000 and now have an online following of over 80,000.

Peace has always loved being a mumpreneur and being home with her children. The flexibility, freedom and creativity that this lifestyle allows is something she is passionate about sharing with other mums who are looking to create a life that works for their family too. Peace specialises in goal setting, business strategy, digital marketing, work/life balance and building an online community.

Katy as a young mum having her first child at 21 and then second at 23, has always been determined to crush the stereotype that having children young will ruin your life. Now Mum to three gorgeous children Lily 13, Leo 10 and baby Emilia 1 she loves encouraging other mums to follow their ambitions.

Recently appointed to the Queensland Government Small Business Advisory Council she is excited to bring more awareness to the Mumpreneur Industry. Katy specialises in Events Managements, Social Media Marketing, building a community and entrepreneurial thinking.

“Being a part of the AusMumpreneur Network has been more beneficial than I thought possible. The networking and business contacts that I have made are only the beginning, what I never imagined was the friendships that I would form and also the added education. The other ladies have given me “foodfor thought” many times over and

this has greatly assisted me in all areas of my business and work/life balance. I would (and do!) recommend this network to all mums (or just women in general) that are in the beginning stages of their business as it is by far the best support they will find!” Jemma VanderboonOwner, Your Virtual Asset+61 432 542 061 | [email protected] | www.yourvirtualasset.com | Gold Coast, QLD, Australia, 4212

client testimonials

“After participating in the AusMumpreneur 28 day Challenge last year I was able to define my business goals more clearly and extend the range of services I was offering to clients. One of the early sessions in the 28 day challenge was instrumental to my overall business success in that it enabled me to work out what I needed to do in order to

meet the needs of clients and prospective clients.

The main outcome I achieved from the 28 day challenge was to offer clients education and training on how to import products into Australia. Up until then I was only focussed on the shipping and delivery side of things. The 28 day challenge made me really think about what clients and prospective clients needed and what goals and tasks I needed to set in order to realise my vision. Setting up and establishing a successful business is so time consuming and conscious planning is crucial for success. The 28 day challenge enabled me to do some conscious planning without taking too much time away from the day to day running of the business. I would highly recommend the challenge to any mumpreneur who is running or thinking of running their own business. “ Tania Clarke | Ensis Global FreightM +61 430 446 739 www.ensis.com.auhttps://www.facebook.com/ensisglobalhttps://twitter.com/EnsisGlobal
