ACTION PLAN

Aims for week 1 • Upload main task brief to blog• Conduct initial ideas soundtrack research by finding 5 potential soundtracks on Youtube and outlining the positives & negatives of each, and then decide which one would be most effective to use.

Aims for week 2 • Conduct initial ideas narrative research by planning three potential storylines for our music video that would fit with our chosen soundtrack.• Conduct genre research on the ‘pop’ genre.

Aims for week 3 • Create the first textual analysis by analysing an existing music video that fits within our chosen genre.

Aims for week 4• Create the second textual analysis on a different pre-existing music video. • Create a questionnaire to find out what the general public thinks about certain aspects of music videos which we can then use to influence the creation of our own music video to ensure that it fits its purpose.

Aims for week 5• Create the third textual analysis. • Collect data from the questionnaire and present in a creative way.

Aims for week 6 • Carry out a line-by-line lyric analysis of our chosen soundtrack.• Research into copyright issues for all the aspects of our music video and soundtrack, and ensure that we gain permission to use all material.

Aims for week 7 • Create an overall synopsis of our music video.• Create a storyboard that outlines the different scenes within our music video.• Decide a song title along with fonts and connotations research for our video.

Aims for week 8• Carry out target audience research and ensure that our video complies with our chosen target audience. • Carry out Blumler and Katz theory research and present in a creative way.• Begin filming.

Aims for week 9• Carry out research into how music videos are regulated and censored. • Carry out research into how the music industry operates. • Continue filming.

Aims for week 10• Begin editing our footage to a high standard. • Create an edit decision list that outlines what clips we have used and the various effects we have used, and the reasons why.

Aims for week 11 • On holiday.

Aims for week 12 • On holiday.

Aims for week 13• Obtain audience feedback about our music video, and then present the feedback in a creative way.• Carry out the final editing of all footage using audience feedback as a basis for which areas to improve.
