Food Control
Smart Parking
QualityGuard – Food control
• iPad application for all clients in processing of food in the distribution sector so that they can comply with legal rules
• 500 LoRa sensors for temperature, humidity, light & opening of doors
• Information is recorded almost in real time and avoid administrative paper work
Benefit : easy to deploy solution, battery life
• Mobile-4, a Proximus subsidiary with Communithing • Parking places will be equipped with LoRa parking sensors • Drivers will be directed to the closest free spot with a mobile app
and can pay for the place through the same application • Optimised road traffic management and urban mobility
stimulation
Benefit : battery life, outside network coverage
Town of Arschot – Smart Parking

Actility rollouts : Belgium – Proximus
Airport asset tracking
Facility management • Sensors applied to the seating of conference rooms to measure
occupancy rate and check if cleaning required. • Toilet doors equipped with LoRa detector. If doors opened 20
times, an automatic cleaning order is sent to the cleaning teams to replace paper or to clean the toilet
• Comfort monitoring parameters (temperature, humidity, CO2…)
Benefit : easy installation, battery life vs usual building sensors
MCS : building automation
Swissport Cargo Services - Zaventem
• Trolley vehicles carrying cargos were fitted with LoRa GPS modules for real-time tracking and monitoring
• Optimise loading/unloading but also cleaning of the vehicles • 100 sensors today
Benefit : battery life increased versus usual GPS

• LoRaWAN technology enabled waste containers that monitor the filling level of the container
• Waste vehicle operations are adapted and best route is defined in real-time towards full waste containers to optimise operations
Benefit : easy installation, battery life, avoiding congestion due to unoptimised routes
HR Groep – Waste management in cities
HR Groep – Smart public space management
• Smart traffic signs inform road authorities in real time & traffic safety is guaranteed. Road authorities do not need any visual inspection anymore.
• Traffic sign can be easily put back in case of a collision • Accelerometer based LoRa sensors • 500.000 units to be equipped
Benefit : battery life increased versus usual GPS, no need to send agents to inspect visually
Street signage
Actility rollouts : Netherlands – KPN
Waste management
12
• Trial on a road for pedestrians and bicycles – 185 street lamps • LoRa sensors equipped street lights and detectors • Before : 11h/day at 100% • After : at 10% capacity most of the time, at 100% if individual is
detected nearby • Consumption reduced of 80%
Benefit : existing lamp retrofit, easy connection to network, bidirectional communication
Ziut – Street lighting trial at Rotterdam
Clickey – Internet of animals / « The Happy Healthy Cow »
• Body implant - LoRa enabled sensor that measures mouvement, position, temperature & heartbeat
