Well, what a busy week it has been this week! The children have enjoyed
lots of different exciting trips across the school, all of which are linked
to their current learning. Probably the most astonishing was that Theresa
May and many other top politicians waved to our school in the lobby of
the Palace of Westminster during Year 5’s trip to parliament! Please
see the picture on the back page! Year 2 enjoyed a fantastic trip to Wes-
ton Super Mare on Monday and Reception went on their Severn Valley
Railway trip on Tuesday. On Thursday, Year 3 went to the Birmingham Mu-
seum and Art Gallery as part of their Ancient Egypt topic. The children
behaved impeccably on all of their visits and were a credit to our school.
Meanwhile, Year 6 children were thrilled that a state of the art Jaguar
Landrover arrived in the
playground on Wednesday!
They learnt about current
and proposed car designs in
preparation for their trip to
Jaguar/ Landrover next
week. To quote Oliver in 6PE “This is my dream car, but I’d want one in
white!”
We would also like to thank Mr Mellon-Woods who has kindly made several
advertising banners for the PTA. You will see them today at Tip Top Fri-
day and at the Summer Fete!
Wishing everybody a lovely weekend. Enjoy the weather– it’s going to be a
hot one! Mrs Darby
Right of the Week: Article 10 Chosen by Year 2 UNICEF ambassa-dors Macy 2S and Molly 2B. Governments must act quickly and sympa-thetically if a child or their parents want to live together in the same country.
Achieving Excellence Inspiring Dreams
Year 3 Egyptian Museum
Year 3 had an amazing time at the Bir-
mingham Museum and Art Gallery yester-
day, visiting the Ancient Egypt gallery and
taking part in a workshop to handle arte-
facts! Everybody was shocked to see a
REAL MUMMY! Then we were all able to
touch real Ancient Egyptian artefacts, like
a mirror, an amulet and a statue. We lit-
erally held history in our hands!
Y5 Houses of
Parliament On Wednesday the children
travelled to London to see
the Houses Of Parliament. It
was a truly amazing experi-
ence for children and staff
alike. We observed a full
Commons and even got to
meet Theresa May and Jere-
my Corbyn. An unforgettable
lifelong memory.
Y2 Weston Super Mare On Monday Year 2 went on their trip to Western Super Mare. All term the children have been learning
about seaside holidays in the past and today. They thoroughly enjoyed playing in the sand, riding the donkeys
and eating their ice creams. The weather was fantastic and everyone had a smile on their face. A truly great
day out! Check out the school website for more photos!
P4C Question
of the week:
What is infinity?
Reception Severn Valley
Reception went on their trip to the Severn Valley Railway. We travelled to
the Highley Engine House on a steam train, where we got to see lots of the
other old steam
trains. We even
found Gordon!
All the children
had a fantastic
day!
