Current Investigation Workflow1. Review and analyze all previous reports prepared in the preliminary phase;2. Conduct additional interviews with victims, witnesses, reporting parties, and preliminary investigating officers, if necessary;3. Conduct interrogations of all suspects;4. Review departmental records for incidents of a similar nature for the investigation5. Review results from laboratory examinations;

6. Seek additional information from informants, or from officers from this and neighboring police agencies;7. Plan, organize, and conduct crime scene searches for the purposes of gathering additional physical evidence;8. Identify and apprehend suspects;9. Interview apprehended suspects in order to determine involvement in, and clearance of, other crimes;10. Arrange for dissemination of pertinent information obtained to other components and agencies, as appropriate;11. Assist department prosecutors and/or Assistant District Attorneys in preparing cases for court presentation.Workflow ContinuedThe ProblemAlmost all police departments use a system whereby offense reports are taken, reviewed by a supervisor and at some point uploaded to the RMS system, then placed into the queue so a supervisor can assign the case to an investigator.Once the officer receives the case, they are free to pick and choose what processes they use to attempt to solve the crime. If three different officers receive three different burglary cases, in most cases, three different sets of things will happen. There is NO systematic approach to case investigation.Here is where ACES enters the picture, making the worst and best investigator start from a higher plane than either would have otherwise.A.C.E.SAutomated Case Examination SystemInitiated automatically As soon as a report is entered into the RMS System a battery of programs commence a systematic investigation against all persons, places and things associated with an offense.Personal Identifier (SSN, DL Number, RNI, etc) information is used to determine what databases can be accessed. Queries will run automatically against all victims, witnesses, complainants and suspects.Queries reside in a database of queries, which means flexibility for additional searches, instantaneously.

Faces, Places and CasesACES-Faces reports aggregate all that is known and linkable about a person where we can obtain a personal identifier such as ssn or drivers licenseACES-Places reports aggregate all that is known about a particular location such as CAD calls, Offense Reports, Sex Offenders, Gangsters, MVR data, Pawn Data, Probation/Parole data, etc.ACES-Items reports aggregate all that is known about a particular item.ACES-Cases reports aggregate all the reporting functions of the system for one specific case. It creates an exhaustive report on the people, places and things associated with a particular case.A.C.E.S.
