2) Access Control Demo Kit Setup

A) Check the DCU Web Interface

You should first open the web interface of the DCU in the Demo Kit to insure it is working properly and that the other equipment is connected and working.

First connect the blue LAN cable from the back of the Demo Kit rack to your PC or laptop, power up the demo kit rack, then type the default IP of the DCU into your browser.

You should see Door port, dual temp humidity in the Summery screen.

B) Installing AKCess Pro Server The core of the system is the AKCess Pro Server software so you first will need to install the

software onto a PC or notebook computer (see the AKCess Control Server product manual for

these steps) you first will login to the software as the Administrator.

C) Adding The DCU Next we need to Add the DCU to our AKCess Pro Server, so from the Add menu choose the

AKCP Device option, enter your DCU‟s IP address and enter the community password that the

default will be public. You will receive a pop up saying the device is connected to another server,

this is normal as is from the testing done before shipping the Demo Kit.

Click yes to add the DCU.

Now we can see the DCU and CCU modules when we click on the Doors tab as shown above. If

we right mouse click on the DCU in green and click configure we can configure the DCU, CCU and

the rest of the components in the demo kit.

Page 6: Access Control Demo Kit Quick Start Guide

Groups Management Permissions Add Doors

If you need to add Groups you can add more or use the ones that are already in the system. We

need to add the permissions for our two doors to the group we will use for the demo.

We first will highlight the group, click on the + , highlight the two doors, use the >> to move the

doors to the Selected doors box, then click on the Next button.

If no Schedules have been created, you will have to cancel out of this and go to the Time

Scheudles tab and use the Add All button to activate the schedule then name it. Now you can go

back and launch the Manage Permissions and add the two doors
