Why ACC Matters

ACC District is primary institution expected to meet Closing the Gaps challenges.

Over half of all individuals who enter higher education begin at community college.

ACC is the primary trainer and retrainer of the local workforce. The associate degree is the fastest growing workforce

credential. ACC offers Developmental Education and Adult Education for

those not yet “college-ready.” As ACC grows, so do four-year colleges/universities. ACC helps promote/sustain economic development and social

equity.
