For me it was my dad and Eddie Kelly. As children we are shaped and influenced by our parents andteachers. Our parents have enormous power to influence how we experience andapproach life. We take our lead from them.

I spent many happy hours with daddy and Eddie Kelly, learning different tunes and honing and refining the style so thatit became an authentic representation of the East Galway Irish Music Tradition. I remember the sense of achievementthat I felt. I remember learning the concept of actually earning something from the disciplined schedule of daily practicewhich included a practice session before school in the mornings. All of these moments in time began to amasse in mychild’s mind and heart and ultimately they have spurred my desire to become a leader today.

Because in reality, I was surrounded by leaders and I too want to become a person of influence, someone with thepower to awaken everyone around me.
