School Timings

Face to face lessons are also hosted live for students who can’t attend physically to school. All lessons are hosted via Schoology and recorded too. recordings are available for the entire week.

Students will receive training/information session during first week to familiarize them with the new protocols.

It is recommended that a child’s school bag does not exceed 20% of their body weight to avoid adverse effects on their spine and body. Students’ school bags should not exceed the maximum weights listed inthe table:

Unauthorized persons are prohibited from entering the school premises.Unauthorized persons include:

• Parents/guardians.

• Unenrolled siblings of students.

• Other persons for whom the purpose for visitation can becarried out without entering the school.

• School-aged children of staff.

• In case of any special requirements, parents should communicate with the administration.

Mandatory COVID-19 Test and Travel History

• All staff and students in Abu Dhabi private schools must undergo COVID-19 testing prior to being authorized to return to the school premises. Details concerning coverage, schedules, and process will be announced at a later time in conjunction with relevant authorities.

• All staff, parents, and students with devices are required to download ALHOSN app to facilitate contact tracing in case of an incident.

• All staff and students must declare recent travel history.

Daily Health Screening Prior to Leaving Home

parents are strongly advised to check their children’s temperatures andscreen for symptoms before leaving the house. Children who exhibitsymptoms or who are feeling generally unwell are encouraged to stayhome.

COVID-19 related symptoms include:

• Fever (37.5 C or above)

• Cough

• Body ache

• Fatigue

• Shortness of breath

• Sore throat

• Runny nose

• Diarrhea

• Nausea

• Headache

• Loss of smell or taste

Entry/Exit Protocol

School Access Points

Gates #1, #2 and #3 are allocated

Non-contact temperature

Persons with temperatures of 37.5 C or higher will be screened again with a handheld infrared thermometer and transferred to the isolation

area upon confirmation of fever for further follow up

Classrooms

• A hand-gel dispenser is installed at the entrance to the classroom.

• A teaching area is set up at the front of the classroom, 1.5 m apart from student workstations.

• A box of sanitizing wipes is placed on every teacher’s desk.

• Workstations are arranged so that students are positioned 1.5 m apart, and the same workstation is used by the same student each day.

Hygiene Management

Handwashing and Sanitization Protocol

and Supervision• Hand sanitization stations are available in

key locations around the school, such as ataccess points, playgrounds, entrances of allschool buildings and classrooms.

• Each handwashing station is equipped withliquid soap, sanitizing wipes, disposablepaper towels, and posters with effectivehandwashing and drying instructions.

• Each hand sanitization station is equippedwith 70%-80% alcohol-based handsanitization gel.

Personal Belongings and Shared Supplies

• Students are required to bring their ownstationery kit that they will bring daily.Stationery kits are for exclusive use andshould not be shared.

• To reduce the transfer of paper from homeand to home, class work and homeworkactivities will be assigned online usingstudent’s iPad device.

• Students’ iPad devices are for exclusive useand will not be shared.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Masks are obligatory for students from grade 1-12.

• Face shields should be worn by students with medical conditions for which mask-wearing is not recommended (supported by a medical certificate).

• Students are required to bring two masks per day: One for use in the morning, and a new one to be used after lunch.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Gloves are not recommended but may be worn. Frequent handwashing is preferable.

• Students are encouraged to always carry a sanitizer with 70%-80% alcohol in their pockets/bags to sanitize their hands frequently.

Lunch / Safe Food Preparation

• Parents are encouraged to send individual packed lunches with students.

• Students should not share food with others.

• Canteen’s pre-packed meals will be made available to serve to students inside the class.

Transportation

Private Vehicles• Students are strongly advised to arrive to school

by individual means.

• School day start time is shifted to 7:55 instead of 7:30 to consider heavier traffic during this period.

• If students are carpooling, parents should keep track of daily carpooling arrangements for contact tracing purposes.

• Parents who do not have alternative arrangements except school busses, they are required to register their details at the students affairs department. Parents will be contacted for further details and arrangements.

Extracurricular Activities and Travel

• Extracurricular Activities will be suspended within the school premises until further notice.

• Extracurricular activities will continue remotely via “Schoology”, our school formal LMS.

• All interschool events such as performing arts or IT and science competitions will continue online until further notice.

• All interschool sporting events are suspended until further notice.

• School trips are currently suspended until further notice.

TEACHING AND LEARNING

• All students shall return to school as per the school’s published Academic Calendar for 2020/21.

• Students with any high-risk health conditions, and students of determination, please contact the students affairs department for further details and arrangements.

• Attendance is compulsory during all modes of learning (face-to-face or distance learning). A student is marked absent if they fail to attend classes.

• An absence is only authorized for the following reasons, confirmed by a signed letter from Parents/Guardians or by way of official documents

• To attest for the full duration of the absence:

• Illness

• Death of a first- or second-degree family member

• Scheduled doctor appointments

• Official community task

• Mandatory appearance before an official body

• Essential urgent family travel for matters such as medical

• treatment or the death of a family member

• Parents shall notify the school in advance of any planned absences and submit the required documentation.

Communication
