Academic Scholarship Guidelines and Eligibility Criteria Type and Eligibility for Scholarships The South Dakota Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants (SDAGA) is pleased to offer two $500 reimbursement scholarships for qualifying academic courses. The scholarships may be used over a full academic year. You must be an SDAGA member. Scholarship must be applied toward study in a financial management academic discipline, such as accounting, budgeting, economics, finance, information resources management and public administration. Preference will be given to course work directly supporting government financial management. This reimbursing scholarship may be used for tuition, textbooks, or expenses directly related to the course of study. Criteria for Award The Academic Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of the candidate’s potential for making a meaningful contribution to public financial management. Academic achievement prior to application is an indication of potential for success, but is not the only criteria that will be considered in awarding these scholarships. Letters of Recommendation All Candidates must include a reference letter from an AGA member or employer. Required Essay & Transcript All scholarship candidates must submit a brief essay detailing how the course work will benefit their role in government finance. This essay should be no more than three paragraphs in Microsoft Word format. In addition, if you have begun an academic program, please submit a transcript of your course work so far. Type and Eligibility for ScholarshipsThe South Dakota Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants (SDAGA) is pleased to

offer two $500 reimbursement scholarships for qualifying academic courses. The scholarships

may be used over a full academic year.

You must be an SDAGA member. Scholarship must be applied toward study in a financial management academic discipline,

such as accounting, budgeting, economics, finance, information resources management and public administration. Preference will be given to course work directly supporting government financial management.
