POWERHOUSE COLLEGE

ABOUT US

Powerhouse College provides growing Christians with an opportunity for in-depth Bible-

based study. We provide study programmes to assist students in their studies.

The courses and study programmes offered are highly flexible and are geared towards

meeting the needs of all Christians. The study material is Word-based, God-inspired and

relevant to the 21st century Church.

Our aim is to help our students deepen their relationship with the Lord and to make them

firm and stable in the work of His Kingdom. We endeavour to provide an in-depth

understanding of the Word of God and not to promote or emphasise the teachings of men.

These courses are a tremendous resource of rich, practical knowledge and wisdom, based

on God’s Word, and is an effective aid to spiritual development and is suitable for all

believers.

Our goals are to help our students in the following ways:

Develop a strong and deep relationship with the Lord and to make them firm and

stable in their walk with the Lord as revealed by the Word through the ministry of

the Holy Spirit.

Prepare them for ministry, leadership and servant-hood in the body of Christ and in

the work of His Kingdom.

Impart a correct and clear understanding of the Word of God.

OUR PURPOSE

It is the mission of Powerhouse College to raise up Spirit-anointed leaders who disciple

nations. Our purpose is as follows: "To edify the body of Christ, to equip God's people for the work of the ministry, to unite in faith, to grow in quality, quantity, stability and integrity so the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love." (Ephesians 4:11 – 16).

WHO SHOULD ENROL?

The courses are practical and geared towards meeting the needs of Pastors, leaders as well

as ordinary Christians who are not in a position to attend Bible School on a full-time basis.

We also encourage those who are young in the Lord to enrol so spiritual development can

take place in an effective manner.

CHURCH-BASED BIBLE COLLEGE

Powerhouse College works closely with local pastors, Christian leaders and local churches.

Our aim is not to take members out of a particular church, but rather to appoint the pastor

as the principal of his own Bible College so he can mentor his own people from the study

material provided. This method has been implemented successfully in many Bible Colleges

throughout the world.

Why church-based Bible Colleges are so effective:

They are less expensive to operate than traditional bible colleges. By using existing

facilities, church staff and other overhead costs are kept to a minimum.

Because of the changing social and economic landscape, many people no longer

have time to attend two to four years of full-time bible school. With this form of

schooling, people can be mentored without leaving their local church, their job or

home for extended periods of time.

ACCREDITATION

Powerhouse College uses Team Impact Christian University programmes and courses accredited by Theological Accreditation International (TAI). TAI is a non-governmental accreditation, extended exclusively to private Christian institutions upon inspection and approval of their programmes, operations and integrity. TAI is one of the largest accreditation agencies world-wide and accredits Christian Universities, Theological Seminaries and Bible Schools in over 30 nations.

The purpose of accreditation is to:

Certify that an institution has met the established standards of excellence.

Assist prospective students in identifying reputable institutions, which offer degree

programmes that will meet their needs and goals.

Allow institutions to evaluate the acceptability of transfer credits into their own

curricula programmes.

FURTHER INFORMATION

LIFE EXPERIENCE

All degrees at the Powerhouse College are earned degrees. This is achieved by mandatory

coursework that must be completed. Our courses are available to everyone who meets our

entrance requirements. Our courses require comprehensive study and self-discipline as our

Bible College is an online institution with no physical campus.

Bible College transcripts do not always reflect real life experience. Powerhouse College

recognises life experience which may have been gained through years of work which is

ministry related. Life experience credits can give some of the recognition needed for this

service in the work of the Lord. This acceptance of life credits helps a potential student to

accelerate their learning experience by enabling them to earn a fully accredited degree.

Applicants must have had more than five years in a recognised position in ministry.

No degrees can be awarded based purely upon life-experience. Life experience credit

cannot be given for an entire degree but is limited to a maximum of 30 credit hours. Life

experience which could include such things as books authored, missions trips, classes

taught, outreach ministries, ministries within a church, etc., must be documented along with

the years they occurred and submitted for evaluation.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

There are no minimum qualification prerequisites for the Certificate in Ministry. Once they

have completed the Certificate in Ministry successfully they will be accepted into the Diploma

programme. The Diploma allows entrance into the Degree, and so on.

Please note that no student may begin with their studies unless they have reached the age

of 16 years.

ACADEMIC YEAR

Powerhouse College does not have a prescribed academic year. Students may enrol any

time during the year.

GRADUATION

Students can start studying at any time during the year. Graduation ceremonies however

only take place at the end of each year. Attendance of these ceremonies is not compulsory

but the graduation fee will always be payable. Certificates will be forwarded to students

within the first few months of the following year.
