Expand your knowledge and skill set while making valuable new contacts at ACA seminars and Australasia's largest dedicated corrosion conference. An international event, the ACA’s Annual Conference and Exhibition attracts hundreds of delegates from around the world. Hosted on rotation by each branch, it features a comprehensive program of technical papers, forums on all aspects of corrosion control, the opportunity to network and debate with industry leaders and international experts, as well as offering a multitude of sponsorship and promotional opportunities. The Annual Conference also includes a great social program of events for delegates and partners.

Technical Meetings

Each branch of the ACA holds regular technical meetings designed to educate, stimulate debate and provide an opportunity to network with corrosion colleagues in your local area. Information, Technical Papers & Library

The ACA has over 1,000 books and journals on corrosion and corrosion control at libraries in Melbourne and Auckland. ACA staff can assist with obtaining copies of worldwide articles, current literature and a range of training videos.

Awards

The ACA offers several awards annually for excellence in Corrosion Technology. The Corrosion Medal is the premier award of the ACA and is presented to persons who have demonstrated international achievement in the field of corrosion technology. The Arthur Kennett Memorial Award, Marshall Fordham Best Research Paper Award and the David Whitby Best Review Paper Award are awards based on technical papers presented at the Annual Conference or published in the 'Corrosion & Materials' journal. Research, whether during undergraduate or postgraduate studies, is encouraged by a number of other special awards.

ACA Foundation

Established in 1999 and reincorporated in 2010, ACA Foundation Limited’s principal objective is to attract and disseminate funds to assist the cause of education, scholarships, bursaries and academic prizes by providing support, both material and otherwise, to the beneficiaries in the wider community. The Foundation provides financial assistance towards educational and scholarship projects via donations from ACA members, Branches and supporters. Donors whose cumulative support reaches the different donation levels are recognised at the Annual Conference.

The best resource for professional development, the ACA offers a variety of training courses for members and non members. ACA courses offer the most up-to-date corrosion control information available today and are designed to produce competently trained personnel in a variety of corrosion related fields. Lectured by corrosion professionals with many years of practical experience, courses range from one-day basic corrosion courses to more intensive five-day courses. Course subjects covered include corrosion technology, protective coatings, cathodic protection, and corrosion and protection of reinforced concrete. The ACA also provide a number of NACE International courses throughout Australasia and South East Asia, including the NACE Coating Inspection Program, which is the world’s most widely recognised coating inspection certification.

Membership

Membership of the ACA is available to anyone with an interest in corrosion and its control. Membership is diverse and multi-disciplinary, including CEO’s, business owners, asset managers, maintenance managers, engineers, consultants, suppliers, contractors, researchers, students, coating inspectors, technicians and more. About Us

A membership based, not-for-profit industry association, the Australasian Corrosion Association Incorporated (ACA) was established in 1955 to service the needs of Australian and New Zealand companies, organisations and individuals involved in the fight against corrosion. It is dedicated to protecting the environment, ensuring public safety and reducing the economic impact of corrosion.

The ACA is comprised of local branches in Newcastle, New South Wales, New Zealand, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia. All are governed by ACA Council

Our Mission

The Australasian Corrosion Association Incorporated is a non-political, not-for-profit membership organisation established for promoting the co-operation of academic, industrial, commercial and governmental organisations in relation to the prevention of corrosion, or its mitigation, as well as disseminating information on all aspects of corrosion and its prevention by promoting lectures, symposia, publications, training and other activities.

Annual Conference and Seminars

Expand your knowledge and skill set while making valuable new contacts at ACA seminars and Australasia's largest dedicated corrosion conference. An international event, the ACA’s Annual Conference and Exhibition attracts hundreds of delegates from around the world. Hosted on rotation by each branch, it features a comprehensive program of technical papers, forums on all aspects of corrosion control, the opportunity to network and debate with industry leaders and international experts, as well as offering a multitude of sponsorship and promotional opportunities. The Annual Conference also includes a great social program of events for delegates and partners.

Technical Meetings

Each branch of the ACA holds regular technical meetings designed to educate, stimulate debate and provide an opportunity to network with corrosion colleagues in your local area. Members are provided with technical information on a variety of corrosion topics over the course of the year and are welcome to attend a number of social functions.

Publications

'Corrosion & Materials' is a bimonthly journal issued to all members of the ACA, featuring a range of news, information, articles and peer reviewed technical papers.

Corrosion Control Directory

Suppliers of corrosion control products and services have the opportunity to list their company information and contact details in the 'Corrosion Control Directory' on the ACA website. The directory is designed to assist those seeking to locate an expert in various fields of corrosion prevention in their local area.

Information, Technical Papers & Library

The ACA has over 1,000 books and journals on corrosion and corrosion control at libraries in Melbourne and Auckland. ACA staff can assist with obtaining copies of worldwide articles, current literature and a range of training videos.

Awards

The ACA offers several awards annually for excellence in Corrosion Technology. The Corrosion Medal is the premier award of the ACA and is presented to persons who have demonstrated international achievement in the field of corrosion technology. The Arthur Kennett Memorial Award, Marshall Fordham Best Research Paper Award and the David Whitby Best Review Paper Award are awards based on technical papers presented at the Annual Conference or published in the 'Corrosion & Materials' journal. Research, whether during undergraduate or postgraduate studies, is encouraged by a number of other special awards.

ACA Foundation

Established in 1999 and reincorporated in 2010, ACA Foundation Limited’s principal objective is to attract and disseminate funds to assist the cause of education, scholarships, bursaries and academic prizes by providing support, both material and otherwise, to the beneficiaries in the wider community. The Foundation provides financial assistance towards educational and scholarship projects via donations from ACA members, Branches and supporters. Donors whose cumulative support reaches the different donation levels are recognised at the Annual Conference.

Membership Application Declaration

I hereby apply for membership of the Australasian Corrosion Association Inc (ACA) and by signing this declaration acknowledge that I have reviewed and am bound to observe the ACA constitution, by-laws, published policies and Members’ Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

The above documents are available for download from the ACA web site at www.corrosion.com.au or in print form from the ACA’s Australasian office.

In the case of Individual or Student member applications, the acknowledgement applies to said individual member or student member both at the time of the application and in the future.

In the case of Corporate memberships, the acknowledgement shall be signed by the principal corporate representative and applies to said principal corporate representative and nominees both at the time of the application and in the future.
