Abyssinian Crisis

Where is abyssinia?Abyssinia is  Ethiopia.This country was not owned by any

European country.  

Benito Mussolini was  born in 1883. In Italy. Hewas the leader from 1922 to 1943. He tried tocreate an Italian Empire a bit like Hitler and Germany. Italy invaded Africa because they wanted glory and power so there countrys people were proud of there country and join there army before the inevitable WW2 happened.

how did it all start?

The Abyssinia Crisis was a diplomatic crisis during the 'interwar period' originating in the "Wal wal incident." This incident resulted from the ongoing conflict between the Kingdom of Italy and the Empire of Ethiopia (now commonly known as "Abyssinia" in Europe). Its effects were to make the League of Nations look bad to the rest of the world and to encourage Fascist Italy to ally itself with Nazi Germany. the wal wal incident was a minor incident between italy and germany

So what did the Abyssinians do?

The abyssinians got pushed down into the south because they were a poorly developed country and could not do anything to fight back. Because they could not fight back they had to appeal to the league of nations thinking this will do something but little did they knoe it would trigger world war 2.

what did the league do?

Well when the League heard about this they wanted to send Britain and France's army's.However France Britain didn't fancy a war. So they made a secret treaty that was called  Hoare-Laval Pact this was basically to move all the Abyssinians to the high mountainous regions and gave the rich areas to Mussolini. there was a reason for this and that was to hopefully stop him joining Hitler.
