4ZAGRange

The ZAG range of enclosures comprises of 19different sizes of enclosures and is precisiondie cast in AL-Si 12 grade (LM24) aluminiumalloy. This is considered to be the mostsuitable grade of aluminium for maximum

corrosion resistance especially in salt ladenatmospheres.Additional optional protection methods such asalochrome, anodising and epoxy polyesterpainting coupled with the fitment of captive 316grade stainless steel lid retaining screwsfurther enhance the anti-corrosion properties ofthe enclosure.

The wall thickness is sufficient to allow tappedentry holes to be machined into the walls or thebase of the enclosure.

Due to the enclosures labyrinth seal system,similar to that of the BPG range of enclosures,whereby the seal is protected from externalforces, the ZAG enclosure has excellentingress protection qualities this means that theenclosure has been tested to and passed

IP65/66/67.

The mounting holes, although contained withinthe profile of the enclosure, sit outside the sealand all the external fasteners and fixings aremanufactured from 316 grade stainless steel toensure the enclosures reliability. Externalstainless steel mounting feet are offered as anoption.

The ZAG range has many features which lenditself to a whole host of applications including

junction boxes, both industrial and hazardousarea, and especially OEM applications, wherethe excellent machining qualities of aluminiumcome to the fore.

The ZAG range can be drilled andtapped withvarious thread forms and it readily acceptsmost paint finishes and colours.

The ZAG range is particularly suitable for theengraving of instructions and decals and thismethod provides excellent durability. Silkscreen printing is also available.

All of this can be achieved even in relativelysmall batches which makes the ZAG rangeideal for the small to medium sizemanufacturers who can achieve a custom

enclosure economically.

Earthing of the enclosure can be accomplishedby various means. Internal / external stainlesssteel earth studs which in turn can beconnected to the terminal mounting rail orcomponent plate and various rail mountedearth terminals or proprietary earth bars can befitted inside the enclosure. Due to the fact thataluminium is an excellent conductor, earthingfor cable glands is provided through contactwith the enclosure wall with no further earthingrequired.

Alternatively, when fitted with an optional silicongasket the temperature range can be increasedto - 70C to + 130C (-94F to +266F).

The ZAG enclosures are suitable for use inhazardous areas and can be supplied with anumber of certificates;

ATEX EExe to BS EN 50019 (zone 1 & 2) EExnA to BS EN 50021 (zone 2) and NEMA 4x(CSA, UL & FM class 1, division 2).

The ZAG range can also be supplied fitted withany component approved terminal to apparatus

level or can be supplied empty as componentapproved for the clients own certificationrequirements.
