‘When thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth’ . The biblical line glorifies the posi-tive trait of oneself not taking the credit for providing char-ity to others – and on the con-trary encourages one to just give and forget about it.

But in our context, shar-ing information on various Corporate Social Initiatives carried out across hundreds of L&T project sites [we are not a single-campus entity], clusters, regions and many units of L&T Construction as well as the Prayas Trust has indeed proven to be a great boon. For, all the com-

munication on E-zine has not only instantly shared infor-mation on diverse activities across the geography, it has also kindled the spirit of giv-ing and sharing across. Pro-grammes have been found to be worthy of ‘replication’, ‘emulation’ and have been carried out in a very com-petitive spirit as well! What’s more, all these Corporate Social Responsibly activities are happening well in the L&T’s immaculate style, and in no hindrance to project-execution. After all, when there is a heart, there is a will and there is a way too. The L&T way!

At a time when the cor-porate goal at L&T is to ‘scale up’ our activities and grow our beneficiaries, Commu-nication has been a tool that has added the energy, vigor, force and speed while col-lecting minds and people together to this task of com-munity development and welfare.

This new quarterly tab-loid from January 2012 - aptly named ‘Reaching Out’, will consolidate the CSR activities carried out across L&T Construction & Prayas Trust.

Also in keeping with the Sustainability Programme,

this tabloid will have a lim-ited print run and will be available as a ‘Web Publica-tion’ for a wide spectrum of people inside and outside of L&T Construction. Conse-quently ‘Reaching Out’ will also help ease the ‘bulge’ off the ECC News [the in-house publication].

With this ‘Reaching Out’, there is going to be no stop-ping on L&Teering @ L&T Construction!

Greetings for a Great 2012!
