Traffic engineers are coming up with new complex intersection designs to keep traffic moving, and sometimes to make it easier for pedestrians to cross, and sometimes not! From roundabouts to diverging diamond interchanges (DDI) and continuous flow intersections (CFI), these intersections may require new techniques and strategies for us and our clients/students. This presentation will describe the concepts of these intersection types, their impact on wayfinding and crossing, and strategies to prepare our clients for them and/or design modifications to request.
