HOW DO I GET MORE INFORMATION FROM MY HOSPITALIST? Your hospitalist will update you regularly on your care. If you or your family member misses the chance to speak with your hospitalist, ask your nurse to help. Your nurse will give you the information you need. PLEASE BE AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT DURING YOUR STAY! Write down your questions as you think about them. Pick a family member or friend to be a second set of eyes and ears to help think of questions and concerns. OUR MISSION Our highest priority is your health and safety. Our care providers make it a point to help you get a clear understanding of your health. If you don’t understand something, please ask! WHO WE ARE We are hospitalists: specially trained doctors who take care of hospital patients - 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Each hospitalist at Wesley Medical Center is board-certified in Internal or Family Medicine. During your stay, you will likely see several members of the hospitalist team. The hospitalist manages your medical issues and includes other specialists as needed. The hospitalist is also in communication with your primary care physician as often as necessary to provide the highest quality care during your stay. When you are a guest at Wesley Medical Center, we are committed to providing you with the best possible care and our hospitalist providers are a critical part of that quality care. WHEN WILL I SEE MY HOSPITALIST? Generally, very ill patients and patients who are being discharged are seen in the morning. You may see an Advance Practice Provider in the morning prior to being seen by the physician. Patients admitted overnight or who are doing better are often seen in the afternoon.
